GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Tony, it's the 12-50 macro vs the 12-100, in part. However, the MkII is noticeably bigger in the hand than the MkI. The E-M1 MkII + 12-100 is only about 10 grams less than my E-30 + 14-54 MkII, BUT the latter feels quite different and much bigger and heavier than the former! It's why I always...

GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Thanks, Steve @drd1135 . I'd already worked that out. The sensor in the E-PM2 is the same Sony 16 MPx one in the E-M5 MkI. The E-M1 MkI uses a 16 MPx Panasonic sensor. That 'pink' hot shoe cover is supposedly 'red'! I have swapped it for a red one. They are FAR easier to find than the black...

GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

A month or so ago, I lashed out on a s/h Olympus Pen Mini, E-PM2, to complement my E-M1 MkI and E-M1 MkII. It's absolutely tiny! 269 gms, plus another 90 gms or so for the auto collapsing 14-42 EZ with auto-opening lens cap. It had 2,777 shots on it ... Came with two OEM batteries (both in...

    Hello from NZ!

:Welcome: . I've only been a member for about 5 minutes, but it seems like a very pleasant and benign forum. I've also been on mu-43.com for about a year after finally cutting my ties with DPReview. Mu-43 is also a very pleasant and friendly forum.

    Micro 4/3 Olympus build quality?

Sorry to hear about your problem, Karen. However, I've used Olympus cameras for over 50 years. After only 30 years, I had to have the cocking lever on my OM1 fixed. My E-M1 MkI had the rear wheel problem, which was fixed under warranty. Strap lugs checked and sensor cleaned at the same time...

They're a little more alert in this one. Rosa in front, Lizzie at the back. On a conference call, judging by the phone handset ... ;) .

    Documentary Planet Garbage

I am often disgusted by the behaviour of our species. I have a keyword group in Bridge named "Urban Ugliness" into which I chuck this garbage. Ever considered that there is no legal method of disposal of 'disposable nappies'? 1) they cannot be flushed 2) they cannot be recycled 3) they...

    The Urban Image Thread

Docklands, redevelopment in West Melbourne CBD. The day I realised that the 42mm (EFL) was inadequate, specially in a fixed lens camera. A two lens E-510 kit was to replace it within a couple of months.
