    Your experiences with traveling light?

I think my favorite travel set up, from the different configurations I have tried with Fuji. Was a pair of X-Pro2's with 16mm and 56mm. I had the two bodies already for event work. So I took one and left it in the bag for backup. Now that I have switched to the X-T2 for event work. When I...

    Using the wing parabolic umbrella....

Or as I call it, the bat wing. I saw this thing on Adorama and it looked interesting enough to try out. So I got the middle size, which is 60 inches. So far I really like the light from it. A pair of these would be perfect for all of the classic head shot light configurations. Excuse the messy...

Fuji I figured out LR sharpening

I gave these settings a try. And the results were really really close to the settings I used above. Nearly indistinguishable. So there are two ways around the worm issue.

I will give those settings a try also. It would be good if there is more than one way to deal with this issue.

Fuji Fujifilm introduces the zoom cinema lenses “Premista” Series.

A true cinema lens has much better build quality than a typical photo lens. Cinema lenses are manual focus with extremely smooth focus mechanisms and very precise focus control. They also stay focused when zooming in or out. The zoom is always internal. The aperture is in T stops instead of F...

    Fuji Filled my last gap

    Excellent lineup. I’m running with the 16 1.4, 35 1.4, 56, and 90. Considering if I need a 23mm. Which I am leaning towards at the moment.

    Simplify the camera

If you have face/eye detection turned on, it cuts off the photometry settings. Face/eye detection has it's own light metering.

This wing shaped parabolic umbrella got my interest. I've been liking the light from a variety of umbrellas. Deep parabolics with diffusers, and softlighters especially. I ordered the 60" version of this. But it also comes in 45" and 88".

    Discuss - For Hybrid Stills/Video - Nikon Z6 or Panasonic GH5s?

Fuji’s video capabilities jumped forward substantially with each XT body. And they are pretty straightforward to operate. Which is why I suggested it. Plus, as you said, you are getting back into Fuji so there will be lens compatibility. The Sony I mentioned because it has incredible video...

Fuji I figured out LR sharpening

Ah, now I understand what you’re looking for. Read through this thread. We cover the worm artifacts well there. What I have figured out is that the use of the detail slider is what brings out the worm artifacts.

I know people were also getting by doing the sharpening in photoshop or camera raw also. At least we know sharpening can be done in LR if anyone wants to stay in one editor.

    Fuji Showcase 90mm F2

@AndyMcD Yes they do have a large diffusion panel. Something else you may want to look into. Amazon sells a 43” diffused umbrella for $20. https://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Umbrella-Reflective-Interior-Shoot-Through/dp/B005ODKQTS

Fuji I figured out LR sharpening

I have been playing around with the current version of LR classic to see if I could lose the worm artifacts. And I think I figured it out. The issue lies in the detail slider. Keeping it at 0 seems to do the trick. This is shot at iso 200. The settings were Sharpening Amount 75 Radius 1 Detail 0...

    Fuji Maybe another XT1?

You've been claiming that people don't know what they're talking about, and that manufacturers cave in to people's wants. I used MP as a perfect example of something people didn't want, but got in place of iso performance and dynamic range. Throwing around phrases like so called pros is...
  29. Bobby Tingle

    Fuji Maybe another XT1?

It is very much needed. Consumers, including working professionals have been demanding better high iso performance and dynamic range over more MP since digital cameras had 12mp sensors. People who shoot weddings, sports, concerts, events, astro, and so on, need high iso performance and dynamic...

    Fuji Maybe another XT1?

There are far more people who need clean high iso performance than people who do not need it. Which is why high iso is one of the features manufacturers are constantly working to improve. And review sites, forums, etc. talk about to death.
  31. Bobby Tingle

    Fuji Maybe another XT1?

The X-T1 is clean up to around iso6400. Beyond that, it is not even close to the files from the 24mp sensor. And the X-T1 can not shoot raw files higher than iso6400. The T2/3 can shoot the entire iso range in raw. If you shoot a lot in low light, this is something to consider. Also, you should...

    Simplify the camera

I have shot comfortably with the 55-200 on a X-E2. So, with the 50-230 being so small and light weight, it should be very comfortable to shoot with on the X-E3. You could go with the X-E3/35mm 1.4/55-230 and either a small Peak Design or Think Tank pouch on your belt to carry a lens in. As...

After mounting an AD600 light with large modifier on one of the old stands I used with my speedlights. Watching it bend, start to tip over even with a weight, and hearing it groan. Then immediately panicking. I decided it best to grab another c stand. Although I have to say that the old $20...
