    Dear Giary!

Samyang/Rokinon/3.5 is a fun lens, good IQ, and cheap. I had one for a while because everyone raved about them. I used it a few times, realized I hate shooting fisheye (even though I like what others achieve) and sold it.

    Personal gear review

Trust me, I continuously check the rumor sites to see if Panny has announced a G9 MkII with a stacked 24MP sensor and hybrid focusing, or OMD has announced the EM1-XMKII. I could still cancel the A7 IV if I wanted and keep the A6000 and lens for an EDC.

But if they do...WOW! I have all the M-4/3 lenses I need. The Lumix 25 and 12-60, and the Leica 8-18, 50-200, and 100-400. Also have a Samyang 85/1.4 that rarely gets any use, will probably sell it. I had hoped Panny would introduce a successor to the G9 with fewer video features...

    Nice touch, KEH

I recently purchased a lens from KEH. It came with caps and hood, so I expected it to show up in bubble wrap. Instead, KEH sent it in a nice, new Cordura lens case with their logo on it. It has a belt loop and zipper top. Kind of impressed. Having bought several lenses from them in the past...

Yes, they tend to be very conservative in their ratings as a rule, it's better than risking a bad reputation. Recently though MPB rated a camera I sent them as 'good' when I had purchased it from them less than a year earlier as 'excellent'. The camera has hardly seen any use, so not sure why...

    Dear Giary!

Most are created pretty equal. I go to the local pharmacy or department store and buy what they have in a spray bottle. Also get some disposable lens tissues, good ones like Tiffin. Never use paper towel or paper anything on a lens, no matter how soft it feels paper can scratch. You can also...

    Dear Giary!

I do some minor camera repair. I keep a bottle of lens cleaner on hand for dirty lenses, but if necessary they first get a dose of isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip. I've cleaned helical coil grease off glass with that combination. Make SURE to blow any loose junk off first, and never wet the lens...

Sony Just played with a new 70-200 GM
