Hi David. I just shot in very bright sunshine today, without noticing that. I've switched to mechanical shutter, however. Have you noticed any difference between those? Also, is there a difference from the jpeg to the dng? Interesting. Glad it's not showing banding in the dng file!

Thanks, David. Sheer numbers of shots taken improves my chances, heh. We're working with a reduced color palette in the winter, so creating interest can be a challenge.

Thanks David and Christine. Quite a few municipalities around Minneapolis and Saint Paul had the forethought (or just plain luck) to create large nature parks. They've been upgraded with paved trails, interpretive signs and the like. These can butt up against commercial projects or freeways, so...

    Leica Song duo and dancers

Yes, with the 18-56mm. Cranked the heck out of the ISO to keep shutter above 1/60th second. Was having problems grabbing focus with AF single in the low-light. Tried a few different modes (single-point, multiple point), but nothing seemed to "grab." Still like the shots though. Critical focus...

Leica Canon LTM 19/3.5. What to expect?

That's going to be a sharp one, as an educated guess. Nice to find in good condition. Could produce color shifted edges on a digital M, if so manually selecting a similar lens will help the camera correct for that. How many aperture blades?

You want "beast," try the SL lenses. Heh! Waiting for the SL wide zoom, but the 12-90 has a decent "wide-side" for now. I have the TL 18-56 and the 11-23, both are great, decent size. Leica Leica CL with M21/3.4

Leica M mount versus 3rd Party M mount ... In general, only the Leica is the Leica. Heh! But yes they're so much more expensive. I think the decision comes down to: the Leica has a bit of its own thing going on for experience, and much more subjectively, results. You do pay dearly for that...

    Leica Leica CL with M21/3.4

Toward telling the CL which lens you're shooting, in the menus manually select a Leica lens that best matches the characteristics of your (less expensive) lens choice. I occasionally shoot Zeiss M-Mount wide-angle lenses, they are marvelously sharp. I "feel" they have a different look than...

Leica Leica 21mm SEM or Zeiss 21 f2.8

I think you'll especially like the 21mm SEM on a CL. It's going to be sharp, with great colors and contrast, and it withstand sun flares fairly well too. (I shoot it without a lens hood with few problem shooting into the sun.) Note, it won't look quite as wide for angle of view as it does on...

    Leica 50mm f/2 Summicron-M (non-APO)

Just remember Luo, a 50mm lens on the CL (APS-C) shoots like a 75mm does on a M240 (full-frame) ... Your 21mm f3.4 will shoot about like a 30mm lens on an M240 or one of the Sony A7 series cameras.

Leica Leica M lens quality control disappointment

Although it won't make for a perfect experience ... They're pretty flush with SLs. I'm guessing a bit of asking/cajoling would have them put a SL and M lens adapter in your hands as a loaner. (SLs are big and heavy, but excellent beasts.)
  46. C

    Leica Leica CL with M21/3.4

Question - is that a Leica adapter and is the 21/f3.4 6-bit coded? If "no" to either, the camera can't make reasonable deductions what the f-stop might be - unless you've manually told it what the lens is. The M Leicas do make guesses about f-stop, as does an SL, they put that into the exif. I'm...

    Leica Leica CL with M21/3.4

There are two primary conditions that focus peaking algorithms have problems with: 1) The picture is too soft overall, such that the focus peaking algorithm doesn't "see" any regions meeting its criteria. 2) Too much of the picture is in focus, such that the algorithm can't reasonably show you...
