Music The Amazing Emporium of Wondrous Tunes (aka: What are you listening to?)

It's Lightning to the Nations, DiamondHead - 40th anniversary re-recording I remember it being new. Well - that's not quite true. I remember Metallica covering them in maybe 1985/86 and that's when I got the original. On cassette tape. The turntable is from Pro-Ject and it's playing over a Linn...

Yeah ! We call them a bartender’s optic. Replace the bottletop or cork with this, turn the bottle upside down and when you put a glass under the 3 prongs and lift it opens a valve to dispense 1fl oz of your favourite tipple. Congratulations Zapp

At first I thought the right hand side were 'tubes' with holes - hence gas burners. Then I saw them as springs and saw the wear on the brass parts to the left. Or I could tell you that I'm a burglar! ;)

Challenge! Digital Darkroom Derby #029 WINNER ANNOUNCED!

I had a wonderful family holiday in Dubrovnik probably the year before the hoards of Game of Thrones fans descended. Highlight was drinks perched (literally) at a bar on the rocks outside the city walls accessed via a 4-foot hole in the wall! Anyway, impossible to get the roof colours right -...

Leica Interesting Video: Sold all his gear to switch to Leica

What a strange and winding path this Topic has wandered. A few years ago all of my kit was Olympus m43 except a Sony compact. Then I bought a used Leica X2 which blew the Oly out of the water. Being wary of investing Leica money, I 'upgraded' from Oly to Panasonic. My logic was that...

Technically I was neither walking nor wandering; I was waiting for my lunch. The people from the table in front left but forgot their water bottle. Looked good (no- I didn't keep it). And the lasagne was worth the wait
