OK, I see your point. For me it starts however from the image. If there is not a clue, even a distant one, me (weak-minded) won't start guessing. Leaving Q&A for others.

The problem for me is that I can't find any details distinguishing this object from a zillion of other objects where fabric is used.

Lens cleaning tip

Indeed - it's mechanical. Not for locking. Clue: think of it as "more power" :) Not a box.

The object is simple (only a few parts), and well known. It's just that this model is a kind of more complicated for better functionality. As for the power button - think of it as a "invention" of the producer (well known for some range of pro tools) for this particular model.
