I finally got the chance to get out and about when the sun shone brightly today. I didn't want my first outing with this lens to be a disappointment so I waited till there was lots of lovely natural light:

Just my opinion but I think that 'newbies' would come away from that website shaking their heads and vowing never to mess with DoF! I took one look at the sliders and thought 'to hell with this, I'm off to shoot some frames'. :hmmm:

I bought a used Olympus m4/3rds 40-150mm lens the other day and the rain finally let up today so I popped out and grabbed some 'snaps' to test the output. The images aren't challenging nor particularly good, I just wanted to share.

I have a severe disability. I cannot render what my eye sees onto paper. That's why I'm a photographer too - I have the knack of 'seeing' compositions wherever I look and all it takes is for me to raise my camera to my eye and voila!

Good to see another mu-43 'refugee' make the journey. I'm still an active member on both sites myself - variety=spice of life and all that. :thumbup: Btw, really enjoyed your 'hockey' set over there. It looked too cold for comfort!

Ordered a kit? I used cotton buds and isopropyl alcohol with a clean microfibre cloth to finish off. Worked wonders!

Today I did exactly what I said I would - I took no photographs. The Sun shone brightly and the sky was the deepest blue but I gave it a total body swerve. Instead, I cleaned my camera and sensor thoroughly and gave my favourite lenses a good scrubbing with a wire brush and Dettol. Honestly...

A short break in the wet snow and so I nipped out and grabbed this shot. Oh for some decent light/shadows.

Well, the snow which was meant for the East coast of the States seems to have ended up on the West coast of Scotland. Horrible, wet, fluffy stuff which melts on contact - can't even get a decent snowscape out of it. Roll on Spring!

Aww, thanks Karen. The one good thing to come out of this? After studying the pics in detail I filled the washbowl and gave it a good scrub with an old toothbrush! ;)

Ah, gotcha. It 'looks' a lot like my home with the books/knick-knacks so having been accused of living in a junk shop, I thought it might be one of those. (for 'junk shop' read 'antique store' - we call them junk shops 'cos they buy junk and sell it as antique)

I'm not exactly proud of today's effort but I'm determined to complete the challenge by hook or by crook!

I know it's daft to assume but is this either your home or a local shop? Wherever it is, jolly well done. Crisp, clear image with lots of detail to catch my eye. I do know that if I tried that here in Glasgow and it was neither of the above, I'd be running for my life. ;)

Thank you all for your supportive comments. I am beginning to learn that sometimes, less is more. I have the annoying habit of trying to squeeze in as many points of interest as I can but this challenge has taught me that that approach isn't always the most desirable.

A little bit of macro - I have no special lighting or reflectors so it's a case of make do and mend. Sorry it's so awful but I couldn't get out and about and I don't want to skip a day.

Another day, another image. From Sunday onwards my camera will gather dust for a few days while I recharge my own batteries...

My only complaint is bad lens choice but it was new to me and I hadn't used one like it before. As I mentioned previously, once this challenge is completed it's going back on ebay. :thumbup:

I'm holding up well for my first time, I think. Of course along with other members I wouldn't have chosen to upload some of the images I captured but needs must, eh? We're in the final week!!
