Micro 4/3 New lens is up: Panasonic Leica 9mm f1.7 (Rectilinear).

Picked up a 9mm today. Didn’t get a chance to shoot any scapes so posting a desktop close up. Had to take the hood off to alleviate the shadow. Acuity in tight looks pretty good.

    Micro 4/3 E-M1iii and E-M5 iii discontinued?

It’s almost like those models missed the middle/end of their production phase and the manufacturers are just moving on. Hopefully with new models. I don’t think I saw two moments when the X-E4 was in stock.

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

With my right hand at rest, I can slip the EM1.2 in and without closing it I can hold it at my side. I think my doppleganger in Japan was used for modeling. This feeling alone should be enough to deter me when I start pondering sensor size inadequacies. I do have my Nikon to compensate this time...

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

@rayvonn I've owned it a few times before. It's not the sharpest tool in the shed even after sample variation but I like the focal angle, size and speed. The seller has vouched for its centering so I think I'm ok. I actually checked MPB and if I don't like it - their buying price is what I...

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

The variety and choices are both amazing and daunting. I'm starting with a 17mm 1.8 and going from there.

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

Picked up an EM1 mkII. Seemed like a lot of value for the price. I had one a few years ago. Loved the feel and the IBIS. Not sure what lenses yet. I kinda like the look of that 8-25 @John King :) Or maybe the other mentioned 12-100.

A pair of jacks. The 13 is DX only but so far looks to be a stellar performer. The 24 will double duty on both formats. Viltrox lenses are well done imo. Reasonably priced, decently sharp, nicely built and not too large or heavy. AF seems good too.

A Nikon 70-200 F4G. Moderately priced and sized. Good AF and VR. And internal zoom. This with the ZFc.

I've settled on this plan. The Z7 as a scape and stroll shooter. With the 14-30 for the more intent based shooting. The 28 and 40 were intended for use with the ZFc but I've found them to be an excellent small, lightweight combo for the more casual use. The 7 also serves as a studio back up to...

How important is a tripod for you?

Long exposures and self portraits for testing lighting. Both pretty rare but the reasons I still keep one.

Actually I'm thinking this strategy may be premature and hasty. I'm going to run all three for a while then make a decision. May very well be the one of the few logical decisions I've made. I guess its never too late to start.

I had plans on a ZFC as my backup/scape shooter to the Z6ii but decided to go the opposite way with a A Z7 and 14-30. There's a size and price penalty but it's a nice gain in resolution and control/layout familiarity. IBIS never hurts.

Just picked up a Z6ii. After all the different systems and menus I've traveled through of late I'm finding the ergonomics/menus/layout quite intuitive and natural. And I absolutely missed/love the F1.8S primes.

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

The small stuff of course. And the large stuff that’s still pretty small, like the EM1s/G9 which is huge comparatively but fit my hands and felt great. My last go was with a G9 and a bunch of PL lenses. That was a blast.
