Fuji Recent Thoughts on the XE3

As a matter of fact, I use the X100F so much, this just sits. Interested? Shoot me a PM.

Fuji Recent Thoughts on the XE3

I'm about 100% aligned with all of this, except with an X100F. Not only am I learning to see with one lens, I'm making myself FIND ways to use it more.

    Fuji A nice black band...

Ha! Fooled ya. Took this to send to Barton Watchbands to try to get a free one.

Fuji At a local salon yesterday...

I photographed the staff of a new hair studio yesterday and while I was waiting to get started, a client was finishing up. She had this really great grin and awesome hair. She was a reluctant participant, but we got her to sit for a minute...

    Fuji Question about 50-140...

I found a great deal, never really wanted it. I like the 55-200XF just fine. But the extra speed is nice and it still fits in my bag in the 55-200 spot. With the 1.4X it might be more versatile than the 55-200. Might have to post the 55-200 for sale...

I didn't notice that, but was outdoors at a noisy game.

    Fuji Question about 50-140...

May have answered my own question... Rockwell says, "Noises When Shaken - Strong clunking from the uncaged OIS system flopping around."

    Fuji Question about 50-140...

Just opened box, grabbed lens and ran to a lacrosse game. Lens seemed to work great, but clunks a lot when moved around off the camera. Is that OIS doing that when it has no power?

    Fuji First World Problem

Actually for one shot, yes. I've been given space to bring back a good shot of Hemingway's home and it could go that large. Otherwise, no. I am leaning toward the Fuji right now, the Sonys have always been my work kit, and the Fujis are just more fun to shoot and DO hold up quite well as you say.

    Fuji First World Problem

I was lucky enough to be in the VIP area for the last night shuttle launch. Took a camera, big lens, monopod, and worried about it for weeks ahead of time. The instant the engines lit, A put it all down and just watched it go. To this day, I'm not the least bit sorry. What I saw far exceeded...

    Fuji First World Problem

For the life of me, I can't make a Sony file look like a Fuji SOOC. I can THINK I have until the next time I shoot with the Fuji... Someone asked me once about a Sony I had and a Nikon Df, I told him the Sony was an excellent image capture device, the Df was a great camera. IMHO that is doubly...

    Fuji First World Problem

Last evening I loaded up the new backpack with the Sony gear (A7Riii/12-24/24-105/70-300/50/flash), picked it up and slung it over my shoulders. There is no way in Hell, I'd spend this dream trip lugging THAT around. I'm packing my Domke F2 and going light. My left shoulder has had 40 years of...

    Fuji First World Problem

I agree, but would add detail shots to that expectation. I’d seriously considered taking only the 16-80 and going super simple.

    Fuji First World Problem

Good idea about the cards AND B&H has a sale today! No one ever mentions taking anything long, always wides. Interesting.

    Fuji First World Problem

The only other concern for me is that I’ve been offered walk space in a local restaurant for a good shot of Hemingway’s home near Havana. I was thinking maybe a dusk or evening long exposure to add a little drama.

    Fuji First World Problem

My wife surprised me with a trip to Cuba in June. Cuba has always been on my bucket list as a photo destination. I've picked out a backpack, but in trying to pack it lightly for the trip I'm conflicted. I have great gear and I want it ALL to go... stupid of me. So to start, do I go with...

    Fuji Where's the GAS thread?

My friend sold me his black X-E2 and I fell in love with it. Then came the X-Pro2 and my love for Fuji grew. A few key lenses and I was really happy with my new direction with Fuji. But then... I saw SILVER! I found a NOS silver X-E2 on eBay and is arrived today. I've not had an XC lens yet, but...

    Fuji Anyone buying the X-T30?

If you don't want the lens, buy it for the $150 package deal and I'll pay you $200. I need a silver Fujicron... 23 or 50.

    Fuji X-H1 further musings

You guys are killing me!! I didn't come to Fuji for the DSLR styled bodies. I came for the X-Pro2 and X-E2 cameras. Now I have to go look at this X-H1!!
  23. SRHEdD

    Fuji X-H1 question...

I'm a big fan of the rangefinder style bodies, not so much the DSLR versions, but the IBIS interested me. I'll hold off hoping the XPro3 or X-E5 (no "4" due to Japanese superstition, right?) has IBIS. ...and I hope their flagships still get built in Japan.

    Fuji X-H1 question...

I'm also on the X-Series boards and there it seems people prefer the X-E1/2/2s over the X-E3 as well. I have an X-E2 and the color/sharpness balance is awesome.
  25. SRHEdD

    Fuji X-H1 question...

I'm still new to Fuji, but it seems there is more love for the X-T2 sensor than X-T3. Does the X-H1 have the X-T2 sensor?

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

Only playing around with it at home tonight, but AF is better than I’d prepared myself for. If you were focusing from eye to eye, or from nose to eye, etc., for example, it is absolutely fast enough, better than I’d expected. The only slowness I see so far is when it needs to rack a bit more...

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

Well, THAT'S a beast... It got here a day early. BTW, this was shot with my X-E2... look at that ISO! Holds up well for old kit.

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

Okay, okay... it'll be here Friday. Thanks everyone, this was a big help. I expect a very sharp portrait lens with great background blur that's a bit slower to focus. No surprises, I like that. Did you see that B&H added the 35/1.4 to the list with a $50 gift card? That just about covers an...

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

That would be amazingly helpful! A 1', 10', 30', and infinity scale or something, times to focus recorded and compared.

Fuji New to the Fuji world, so...

...does the sale on the 56/1.4 signal a new version (maybe with OIS) is coming? Nikon has tells about when new cameras/lenses are about drop, does Fujifilm? I'm an old guy, OIS in that lens would be nice...

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

I have FF Sonys (A9/A7Riii) for my limited remaining commercial work and the 85/1.8. I’m loving my X-Pro 2 and X-E2 for the mechanics, crazy unexpected sharpness and joy of using. There is just a “life” in the jpgs that I appreciate. I wanted the Fuji cameras for fun and travel. After 30+ years...

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

Is AF on par with say, a Nikon 85/1.8G or Sony 85/1.8FE?

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

Please. It is on sale for a decent price. I'd be shooting it on an X-PRO 2. Thanks in advance.

    Fuji XE3 Arrived!

I started in the opposite way. I bought a pristine black X-E2 from a friend locally. It had the 18-55. I found a Fuji grip for it, a LensMate thumb grip and the 35/2. Now it feels good in my hand. So good that I bought an XPRO2 a week or so later. They're certainly different, but equally nice in...
