    Leica Showcase 7Artisans 75mm F1.25

It's probably the film camera and vintage lens revival. Hasselblad Xpans used to go for $2000 or less, but now they're going for $4500 for the Xpan I to over $7000-$8000 for the Xpan II.

It's not bad but the lighting is even worse in some wedding circumstances I shoot in. Any f/stop advantage I can have would be a great help.

    A self-portrait, if you will.

That photo was taken at a wedding I shot a month ago. But what throws me off is this photo I took at a wedding I shot last year. I can't figure out why I can't see myself in TWO pairs of sunglasses in the photo. I am not a vampire. I like garlic in moderate amounts, I quite like beautiful...

    Leica Showcase 7Artisans 75mm F1.25

I was discussing in the other thread that I don't think I will ever experience focus shift problems because of the way I shoot. There isn't any other fast telephoto for Leicas right? I think the only other fastest one is the 90mm summicron and that only goes to f/2.

    Leica 50mm woes

Speaking of which, I'm sending in my M10 because the light meter seems to be over-exposing by two stops. Luckily I'm still under warranty.

Tripod schmipod. Also, I use Leicas but never encountered the problem because I take a lot of photos of moving subjects, so I'm continually focusing on the fly, but very seldom adjusting f/stop on the fly.

    Leica 50mm woes

I honestly don't get it. It seems that if I was using the Sonnar, I wouldn't ever experience this problem because I very seldom play around with the f/stop on the fly, is that right?
  19. TraamisVOS

    Leica 50mm woes

I don't think I've ever had this problem. I never I usually pick an f/stop suitable for the lighting and/or requirements of the circumstances, and then I generally stick with it. How are all of you doing your photography where this is a problem?

    Leica 50mm woes

I just looked it up - so the focus will shift if you've focused under one f/stop, and then readjusted the f/stop?

Every six months, the real estate agent visit for the routine property inspection.....

It's generally yearly leases or whatever you wish to negotiate with the landlord. It can sometimes be 2 years. As far as I know, they're only allowed to raise the rent at the time when the lease is up for renewal. However, whatever arrangement you have with the landlord, I think the landlord...

    Leica 50mm woes

It comes from the factory calibrated at f/2.8. I never understood why, because f/1.5 is where it needs to be accurate with all that shallow depth of field. The more you stop the lens down, the deeper the dof, the more latitude you have to get things in focus.

I own a Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM. It is a spectacular performer and I shot an entire wedding with it last year ... BUT... it doesn't have the modern coatings to prevent light/sun flares. The flares are harsh and ugly.

  32. TraamisVOS

    Sony A73 vs A7R2

Resolution isn't a priority for me because higher resolution doesn't always mean better IQ. And I really don't need to print a billboard-sized photo. For me personally, I'd go for the latest A7, it's a solid performer with excellent IQ, it does everything I will ever need from a full frame...

What I meant was - 12MP is generally enough for everyday and/or casual use. 12MP can well and truly cover A3 or larger with ease. By staying with a 12MP sensor, today's improved sensor technology can then go into maintaining large photosites within the sensor itself, which will in turn give...

Leica What is the provenance of this "Sonnar" (Leica-Sonnar 58mm)

I'm far from being an expert on this. But my layman's perspective tells me that "sonnar" is a Zeiss term, not Leica. Also the zone-focusing numbers and the graphics(?) on the lens looks ... 'fake'. I don't know why it looks fake, but to me it does. Also, the metal chrome doesn't look genuine...
