    Take my Picture, Please!

Photographing football means getting very close to the athletes, cheer squad, managers, and the like. My wife and I had photographed this one high school for 8 years and the kids knew us well. They always would signal us if they wanted a picture and here is some of what we got. I will also...

I totally agree but to this ols Kansan, the traffic on the highways was more than I would want to do. We ended up using the toll express way to get some traffic separation.

    Cameraederie member Linda Gregory remembered.

On November 6th of this year, my wife would have celebrated another year of life, but instead, we celebrated what was her life in a celebration of life for her. It was held at the gymnasium of the school she loved and was injured while covering a game a couple of months before. Most of the...

Street Crazy time in Ft. Worth

My daughter and my son-in-law decided that I would spend a couple of weeks with them for Thanksgiving. They knew that with my wife just passing that a holiday alone was not to be. They drove to pick me and my three dogs up and brought me to their home in Plano, Texas. Yesterday, they took me...

Nikon So I bought a D750. Now what?

I own a D750 and have used it with both AFS and D lenses. I don't own a lot of Nikon mount lenses now having sold most of them but I could see only a tiny bit faster focus with AFS. I now have a Sigma AFS 12-24mm, a Sigma 180 3.5 macro, a very old 70-210 f 4 Nikon, a 50mm 1.8 D, and a couple...

I have only one binocular. It needs an eyepiece cup and it is not the brightest but I would not think of getting rid of it. The Binocular is a desert camoflaged Zeiss German army pair from the North Africa campaign and my dad bought? (appropriated) it from his fighting in Sicily, How it...

I admit that I have a problem. I am thinking about selling much of my wife's gear and I find a UsedPhotoPro listing for a very old Nikon 70-210mm f4 for 53.00 with 5% off so I clicked to buy this lens for the sum of $57.00 including tax. It arrived today and works perfectly on my Nikon...

    Thinking of selling wife's gear.

I think I will get estimates on a lot of gear. In addition to the OM-1, I will list a EM-1ii, EM-10, Panasonic DMC-G5, a very old and little used Oly EPL-1, 25mm 1.7Panasonic, 60mm 2.8 Sigma,, 50MM 1.8 NIKON AF,and maybe some older Nikon bodies such as D2xs. It seems that the realization of...

    Thinking of selling wife's gear.

Some of you know that my wife had an accident while shooting a football game when she was knocked into a concrete apron when two players in pursuit knocked her down. She was using her Olympus OM-D Em1x with the 40-150mm 2.8 with 1.4x teleconverter. The force of the collision broke the 40-150...

The oldest camera you actually have a reason for using?

I have probably 50 old film cameras. I mean very old ones including Zeiss Ikon floders brought from Germany by my dad after WWII, Kodaks, Bosley B2, Argus, Contax, Kiev, Yashica, and others but they are in a cabinet. I worked as a sales rep for commercial clients for the old Nikon importer...

I did not buy this computer but I inherited it from my wife who had just got it. A desktop supercharged AMD Ryzen 9 6900 HX, 32GB RAM, 2 TB SSD, and another 2TB SSD external drive. I apologize for posting so much about this tragic accident but my memory of her is absolutely burned into my soul. Unfortunately, the Nikon 80-200mm 2.8 I bought for a rock-bottom price turned out to be a dud. It did not zoom smoothly, had a non-functioning focus limiter but seemed to be okay at close range. It was badly decentered and would not focus at longer distances. I contacted the seller, a big...

Animals "Wild animals in the wild"

It never fails to amaze me the complete stupidity of some people around dangerous wild animals. I have seen a father take his 5-year-old son on a trip with the final act being mayhem. I really miss the trips to Rocky Mountain National Park. We would go at least twice a year---early summer and late fall. We would go during the snow melt time or mud season and then again for the elk mating season. We were very fortunate to have been trained in the way of letting the animals...

My bargain 80-200 2.8 Nikon Zoom came yesterday. It has the push-pull zoom and the zoom is a little tight but okay. The focus limiter seems to be stuck on full focus. I can live with these defects for the price I bought the lens. The pictures were sharp and the focus was accurate.

I bought a well-used Nikon 80-200mm 2.8 for a price I never expected. It is the older push/pull Zoom which I owned many years ago. I replaced it with the 80-200 2.8 two-touch lens but in a fit of hysteria, I sold it. I still have a Nikon D750 and D2x along with a Fujifilm S3 Pro so it might...

    Hard to beat the 80-200 2.8 for the price. My favorite older Nikon lenses were: 1. 70-200 2.8 VR, 2. 80-200 2.8, 3. 180mm 2.8 edif, 85mm 1.8 (any iteration), 4. 50mm 1.4, 24mm 2.8, and 5. 300mm 4.

Fuji The Fujifilm X series image thread.
