This may not interest everyone but my friend and musical partner John Stewart's birthday was a few days ago. John died in 2008. I found a video that we shot in Scotland back in 2003, and never released.
Here are a couple of the songs:

Thanks. The first two are at Muckross Abbey just outside Killarney and the last is on Abbey Island on the south part of the Ring of Kerry. I'm in Kerry for a month and have covered nearly every burial ground, shrine and holy well in a 100 mile circle.
We're in SW Ireland at the moment. We've been here two weeks and are here for another two. The shooting has been good, primarily with the Fuji X cameras and lenses. A few days ago I had a camera problem with one of the XT1's and wound up using the RX1 exclusively. It turned out very well.
The current 35mm F1.4 lens is optically one of the best lenses I've used. Some people complain about the AF speed. It's immaterial to me so I don't know if it's fast or slow. Supposedly the 35mm f2 addresses the speed issue. I always find it interesting how these things work out. If Fuji had...
Thanks! The Rokinon/Samyang/Bower 8mm lens for the Fuji X cameras is a full frame fisheye but it has some sort of optical correction built in that really works if you hold it level. Like all fisheyes, it can be overused but once in a while it's fun to play around with.
This picture is not really part of the megaliths project though it was done while walking to one of the sites. I thought it was fun for two reasons. First: it shows that you CAN go overboard in processing and it can happen very quickly. Second, it shows that an 8mm fisheye on a Fuji APS-C camera...
Thanks for the comments. I'll post more as I get them done. This project is actually two parts. The first is the megaliths and the second is the shrines, holy wells and burial grounds of Ireland. What I'm finding is that I prefer the megaliths in black and white and the other parts in color. I...
It's taken me almost 11 months to get started but I'm beginning to print pictures for an exhibit of Irish megalithic sites. I'm a big fan of Paul Caponigro's Megaliths work and the style he used. Here are a couple of the pictures.
Bought this last week and it was fun but I really don't want to haul two systems.
The Fujis are the cameras for me.
Probably less than 300 actuations. Latest firmware installed.

I'm just picking up a used A7 kit. I really had no intentions of doing it since I'm very heavy into the Fuji X cameras and lenses but I recently bought a Sony RX1 and fell in love with the files.
My plan is to use the A7 strictly with adapted lenses. I have plenty of old Nikon, Leica M and Leica...
That really is a nice case. I have one of Luigi's cases on the M6 and it fits like a well made glove.
If I didn't like the a/s style grips so much I'd be really tempted by that case.
I appreciated seeing your set up for the camera. I'm about 50% af/manual focus and 100% manual exposure...
The ones that didn't work were just cheap Chinese buttons that someone gave me. The better releases worked fine. I was almost ready to order one of the Gariz stick on buttons like I use on the Xt1 until you guys got me to look a little harder at what was going on. Thanks!
I tried the EVF. A friend has one on his RX100. It was just too unwieldy for me.
Now I have to go try my soft releases again. I have a whole drawer full of them and what I THOUGHT was that the beveled part of the sony shutter release wasn't going to match up with the releases. I'm probably...
I haven't had enough time with the Sony to give a meaningful comment. The weather here in Ohio has been really crummy and the photo opps have been very few.
I did compare the raw files using Lightroom. I use Peter Bridgwood's presets for Fuji RAF files and after applying those presets I found...
First let me say that I'm a shooter and not a fondler. Having said that, all of my small cameras have the same stuff on them. Arca style grips, vented hoods whenever possible, Gordy's straps and, on the back, Larmour LCD screen protectors. As I get older I'm finding that small cameras don't...
Henry is a friend of many years. I met him through the music business rather than photography. He may be the nicest man on the planet. He is a West Point grad and played in a group called the Modern Folk Quartet (harmonica and banjo) for several years. His success in photography was almost...
When I had the Merrill cameras I tended to treat them as medium format film cameras and rarely shot a hand held picture. I had arca style grips on all three (knockoffs-not RRS brand) and used a Manfrotto CF tripod with a small ballhead. The ballhead had the arca style QR. This allowed me to...
I'm not sure. It works more like the Merrill cameras than it does the Xt1/X Pro1's. I think it will be good for what I expect of it which is an ultra high res pocket camera that does well in low light. I don't like all of the menus and stuff but since I never use any of them I can pretty much...
My camera arrived today thanks to the great folks on this Forum who posted the Cowboom offer of a 50% discount. It was brand new and shipped in one day. It's no good outside so I'm looking around the house for subject material.
Thanks for the info and suggestions. I shoot raw and jpeg with the Fuji cameras as well as with the D800E. I rarely do anything with the jpegs, though. It will be interesting to see how LR does with the Sony raw files.
This will most likely be a combination pocket camera and video camera for me.
I've been looking for the camera at the $1400 price point since this thread started and they seem to have evaporated. If anyone sees them again at this price please post a link and I'll be all over it immediately.

Here's a warrior. It belonged to a friend who passed away a year ago. I closed the estate of his cameras. There were 216 items ranging from a 50mm Noctilux to a 35-350 Canon EF lens. He used every single piece and this one was the one he used the most. It's got lots of tape, dents, scratches...
Try saving as a tiff and then printing out of either Lightroom or CC.
Your pictures both look really good on my monitor. Sigma software can be really clunky but it also works well if you're a patient person.
By the way, I'm glad you're enjoying the camera!

I shot with Nikon DSLR cameras for quite a while and was always struggling with the dust issues. I knew very well how to prevent dust from getting in (camera upside down, no wind, keep the rear elements and rear caps clean, blahblahblah) and I still had dust issues. It was so bad with the D3...
I initially thought it was an illusion but I am now convinced that web pages and almost everything else opens and runs faster on Yosemite. I've tested it on the Mac Pro and the Macbook Pro and they both seem noticeably faster in opening large files and loading catalogs of images.
