Some Graphs Just Make It Clear

Phone cameras have pretty much plateaued in sensor and lenses. But, they are still growing in computational photography.

Some Graphs Just Make It Clear

Also along this line of thinking. People are still shooting film cameras. I have a few long time photographer friends who have gotten away from digital and went back to only shooting film.

@Briar very nice! I prefer strobes for the much greater versatility of what I can do with them. But I’ve shot many of what I feel are excellent portraits with constant lighting. Filming is done with constant lighting and it can be beautiful. Your lights will be easier to work with for product...

There is nothing wrong with continuous lighting. I used to shoot with that type of lighting for quite a while.

    Havasupai, XE3, SOOC

Awesome set!!! Looks like you had a great vacation. On the battery usage. I’ve been noticing the same performance since the switch back to the fujicrons. I’m guessing very small glass paired with a fast, efficient af motor is huge factor.

@addieleman I had the blue mindshift bag for several years. Use it for offroad events, beach stuff, landscapes, etc. It is an excellent bag.

Godox ad200/Flashpoint Evolv 200 pro vs standard

@mnhoj I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am with lighting if I didn’t have the kiddos to practice on. They’re gonna hate me over the next few weeks while I work on new light recipes.

Godox ad200/Flashpoint Evolv 200 pro vs standard

I have changed my lighting from a pair of Godox AD600 lights to a mix of four Godox/Flashpoint 200's. Two standard and two pro models. I wanted to write a bit, or get long winded, about the 200s, and the differences between the standard and pro models. I want to say now, that this is obviously...

Agreed that Fuji should be able to work this out with a firmware upgrade. I believe Fuji went through a similar issue with color chrome on the GFX.

I've been hearing that if you are shooting jpg, using clarity, this is what is causing the lag time. Setting the clarity to zero eliminates the lag time.

    Fuji any gfx users?

I’ve been thinking very hard about saving up for a GFXr and a lens or two instead of the X-Pro3 and/or 50mm f1.

Adorama had a Flashpoint boom on sale for $20 when I ordered the 200s. It’s probably still that price. The cool thing with the 600 extension head. Is that with the monolight body in the included bag. You can hang it at the end of the boom as a counter weight. Thanks for the link. I’ve never...

Fuji Charlene Winfred and her journey with the 35mm 1.4

I’m getting to a point where I’m backing off a lot of what I’ve been shooting. Which has me leaving the same lens on 90+% of the time. With the only difference being that I’m running with the 23f2.

Nice! The 600 is a great light. I have nothing bad to say about it. If you are going to use it on a boom, I highly recommend getting the extension head. The 600 plus a modifier can get unruly on a boom. And yeah, I did just sell mine. Actually taking them to the buyer tonight. The portability...

Just saw Adorama was running a special on this kit for $229. Cheaper than you can find them used. Since I am switching my lights to AD/Evolv 200's, I couldn't pass on it.

Fuji Let's start talking about the X-Pro 3

I’m still very much on the fence. There things I really like about the Pro3. But my Pro2 is doing everything I need well. And I’m starting to lean towards preferring to have the d pad.

Fuji Working on my own gear purge, but....

I picked up one as a backup to my AD600's from a guy on FM who used it for one shoot. So basically brand new. I find myself grabbing the AD200 most of the time because it's so much easier to work with.

Fuji Working on my own gear purge, but....

Lens and body purge completed. I just shipped off the last piece. Now I'm going to downsize my lights from AD600's to AD200's. I'm giving up 400w in power. But 200w lights are bright enough for what I shoot. Plus, the AD200's are a lot more portable and versatile. I can throw the AD200 in a...

Fuji Working on my own gear purge, but....

With the Pro2 and T2, it really depends on how you like to shoot. The T2 is designed to get out of your way, where the Pro2 is designed to get in your way. As much as I hate the marketing nonsense, the Pro2 really is a different way of shooting. But, if you prefer the rangefinder ergonomics, it...

Fuji Working on my own gear purge, but....

I called an audible in my current gear purge. For a few reasons. I’m going to keep the 16mm 1.4, and instead sell the 35 f2. There Is a lot of history between that lens and me. Also, there are things I shoot which 23mm will not be wide enough for. Another issue is, with the 23 f2 and 35 f2 in my...
