    Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

Thank you for restating, in such a complimentary fashion, the points I've made before about the K-1, Miguel. It really is a camera capable of extraordinary subtlety and sensitivity in response to what you put in front of it, and that's a really valuable thing. I think my draw towards the...

Gadgets Argos sells LG G3 42 inch OLED with Free Nintendo Switch OLED

Everything has its downfall. When I had the Switch I enjoyed YouTube while on the exercise bike. Now that I have a Steam Deck instead, I have to use a clunky workaround for adding YouTube as an app which still has the navigation of the webpage that it actually is.

What game are you playing or looking forward to play?

LOVE The Long Dark. I played a lot of survival mode early on in the pandemic and it felt oddly comforting to be alone in a fictional wilderness when turning on the news or going outside resulted in a flood of doom and gloom from every direction.

    Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

Thanks! You've got a great Pentax connection with the LX, I upgraded a couple of times in the past few years from a K1000 and a very beat-up MX to a nice black-paint MX that I'm not getting rid of anytime soon, it's a beauty. As far as camera shops, we've got Glazer's and Kenmore Camera, neither...

    Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

Darn it, I'm having a hard time contemplating giving up the Monochrome. I have to decide whether I want it more than my (small remaining) M4/3 kit and the Pentax HD FA 31mm f1.8 Limited (because this is the level of gear I'd need to sell to fund it). Now, the latter lens is actually a perfect...

    Micro 4/3 OM-1 Mk2

Isn't this the most expensive M4/3 body ever, aside from the E-M1X? I get that cameras everywhere are going up in price, but it's a tad masochistic to call it "attractive."

    Personal gear review

Using the Pentax K-3 mark III Monochrome has made me scrutinize the K-1 mark II some more, given my almost two years of experience with it. Whenever I have tried to use the K-1 as a run-and-gun, I come away mildly disappointed. This shouldn't come as a surprise. It's a hefty camera with not the...

So does the China relocation for production equal better supply lines? Maybe because materials don't have to cross borders, or is it more of a workforce issue? I've noticed that other manufacturers have moved production to countries other than China. Ricoh/Pentax, for example, manufacture...

I'm going to wind down this thread since it's such a barrage of images. I might start a "Show Greece" thread and post somewhat more selectively in there. It really was a trip I'll be thinking of for a long time, possibly until I get a chance to go back. I feel I should round out Europe with...

How does the camera feel in the hand? How's the right-hand grip? I see the EP7 as being useful to shoot held out with the right hand, and not necessarily supported with the left hand as well, except when changing settings or focusing with the lens. Haven't had one in person to test, though.

I am glad to finally hear from someone about this TTartisan viewfinder. Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

I'm becoming more and more sure that this is just a JPEG artifact from the camera's engine, maybe something to do with the programming in changing the normal K-3 III into a monochrome camera.

I am starting to wonder if the grid is just a JPEG artifact. I can see a grid when I pull up a DNG in Windows on my computer... I can see the grid in the JPEG from the camera on my computer... but when I edit the DNG in Lightroom, I can't see it at all.

GAS GEAR: Please Share your Latest Disposals Big and Small

Understandable, Pentax cameras are never going to function anywhere near mirrorless level in live view either. If your style isn't holding the viewfinder up to your eye, the format just isn't on par with other options. The K-3 III has the best live view of any Pentax DSLR I have tried, but...

That's plenty sharp! And I like the richness of the shadows, which is actually something I saw in the 21mm images I made on a color sensor. Good to know the character carries over to B&W.

    Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

Understandable with the nice compact package that it makes. Is the contrast and sharpness good for the monochrome output? I remember the 21mm being great for color rendition but not quite as good for microcontrast as some other lenses, but I didn't have it for a very long time.

To add onto the sentiments that I expressed before, I continue to see the APS-C Pentax line with a bit of love-hate: they do make a line of really cool APS-C lenses in the DA Limiteds, as well as some other options including the really affordable 35mm and 50mm "plastic fantastic" primes. But...

The F-8 bag arrived, and I think it's a winner. I pulled the dividers out, and there's just the right amount of room to drop a camera with a lens - even the K-1 II with a decent sized lens - and have it ride along securely, with very easy access. I got the weathered/ruggedized version, and it...

    The End of “Mirrorless”

    Pentax K-3 III Monochrome Sensor!

Hard to say... the idea of a monochrome sensor that plays nicer with vintage lenses is interesting, but I don't know that the greater resolution and depth of the FF sensor is strictly necessary, given how sensitive the K-3 III M sensor is. Plus the latter gets a speed boost from being a smaller...
