    Infrared Images Subtle infrared color

And here's a Polyphemus moth on a railing outside the Court Street Diner in Athens, Ohio. Shot in 590nm because that's the only body I had with me, and with the 14mm Fujinon because that's the only lens I had with me. The feet, yes, are mine.

Here's another, taken a couple of hours ago at the lovely little village of Amesville, Ohio. I did the usual white balance and channel swap adjustments and, because it was shot with the 14mm Fuji lens tilted slightly upward, did a touch of perspective control (Shift-P in the GIMP) as well. I...

I played with an image seen a few pictures above -- post processing IR involves a kind of zen (as does a lot of computer work) -- and here is the picture more as it should be, I think. One thing I'm learning is to bring down the highlights before tweaking exposure in general. With a little...

    Fuji Problem with X100 s

It might be worthwhile to try some different things -- aperture priority being one, auto-everything being another, shutter priority being yet another -- and seeing if the anomaly you noticed or any others appear there. At least it would help narrow down the circumstances under which the problem...

This is kind of fun. I shot looking down at the creek and am now surprised at the depth of color in the reflection. Infrared and bodies of water are always a little unpredictable, in my experience. This was shot at 590nm, and auto white balance and channel swap in the GIMP.

I stuck one of these in a "Portrait" thread last night, and it caused me to think that a little something involving infrared (and UV, but ick!) portraiture might be fun here, so I'll kick it off. These were all shot in 720nm infrared. This was what is technically known as a happy accident...

If they made one, there would have been no point in my saying that should make one, no? They also don't make one for the X-Pro1. Though they recognize that the camera is too small for many people, which is why they (and numerous others) make grip extensions for both the X-Pros and the X-Es...

There's Fuji software for both IOS and Android. Not to put too fine a point on it, but you would have been under no obligation to purchase one. And it's not as if the X-E has overly long battery life. Nor is the X-E any flavor of coat-pocket camera with anything but a very few of the available lenses attached. IMHO.

Infrared Images Conversion isn't necessarily necessary

Here are a few made with a cheap 720nm filter stuck on a Fuji X100. They're OOC but for auto white balance and channel swap, done in the GIMP. I particularly like the shadow in the last one. It also seems to me that angle of incidence is important in infrared, with vignetting being the...
