Fuji The great Camera purge at MPB

They are an excellent company. Good prices, fast service, no-questions-asked return policy. Very trustworthy. I've bought and sold stuff with them for over 5 years.

Film Shooting 70mm film: Murder on the Orient Express

I saw this film over Christmas and was blown away by it - at every level. The cinematography was superb; a feast for the eyes. Acting was absolutely top notch too. One of my favourite films of all time I think. Interesting that it was filmed on 70mm film - I had assumed high-end digital.

Fuji Raw converter that finally does the X sensor justice?

I don't understand that. Surely the image undergoes de-mosaicing (and tone curves etc) before the film simulations are added?

Fuji Raw converter that finally does the X sensor justice?

Not looking to start any forum war here, but I often wonder if the X-trans idea has had its day. It was conceived to allow Moire-free images without the need for a AA filter. But it seems that most Bayer cameras now don't have AA filters either and Moire never seems to get mentioned...

Fuji Used x-pro2 with mark on sensor - should I keep it?

It could just be a streak left from cleaning. I'd call them and say you're not happy but would be prepared to keep the camera if they can sort out the streak. They need to cover postage of course.

Fuji Freedom aka small is beautiful and goodbye EVF lenses (X-Pro2)

What specific advantage does the OVF give over the EVF? For me the whole point of mirrorless cameras is the EVF and the features that brings (constant view of exposure, overlaid camera settings, level, focus peak/magnify, over/under exposure warnings, ...).

    Fuji Ken Rockwell on X-T2...

Ken Rockwell? - ha, ha, ha.... As regards IQ though - almost any ILC camera is capable of stunning quality in the right hands. Which system is right for you depends on a lot more than IQ.

    Fuji Moving on

Good luck on your photographic gear travels. I took a look at your website. There are some absolutely fabulous images there and I like your style a lot. I'm sure you can make any camera sing! However, just some feedback - I found that your site crashed my browser a lot. Maybe it's just an...

    Fuji Hello again

Hi Darren. Welcome from another mu43 regular. I'm just a loosely- aligned malingerer here, having just acquired an old X-E1 and a 35/1.4. I'm not leaving u43, just having a brief flirtation with Fuji! Welcome and thanks for your continued "favourites" on my Flickr page!

    Fuji Another 4/3 convert

I'm a pretty committed u43 guy, but I recently bought a very cheap X-E1 and a 35/1.4. I'm very impressed with the Fuji image quality, especially the skin tones (shooting raw with LR6 PP). Noise at ISO 1600 is better than my E-M1 too - but the differences aren't huge, especially if I apply a...

It's nearly time for Single in January 2016 - expressions of interest here, please!

Sounds fun. I think I'll give it a go. I'll probably use my trusty old E-M5 plus either the little Panasonic 12-32 (but I feel it's sort of cheating to use a zoom), or the Oly 17/1.8. Will there be a page setup for each day?

    Film Ready to go...

It's a while since I've done it, but I used Patterson tanks and reels extensively back in film days. Threading the film on is not too difficult - the difficulty, esp with longer film lengths, is making sure that the film doesn't kink as it snakes itself onto the spiral. Friction is your enemy...

I think I'll develop the film myself Steve (I've just put a bid in on eBay for an old Patterson tank!) and then find a scanner to get them onto the computer. I'm still trying to get my head around scanners. There are plenty of 5Mp scanners for less then £50, but I'm assuming these won't really...
