    Fuji Showcase Rokinon 12mm f2

Haven't seen many sample shots of this lens on the net so thought I would share some from a recent trip to Bali. I'll hopefully be able to put up some more shots from Japan later as well. I like how wide it is..like my zuiko 9-18mm for my micro four thirds setup. The 'curvature of the...

Nothing like a sunset after the storm

There are days where there's not much to do for the picture..the sky has done all the work. My "backyard" view I suppose. Just opened the window from my office and leaned out! Panasonic G5 14-45mm G5 with Olympus 40-150mm.

    Rainy Day Foliage

Because I like to punish my old bellow lens set-up with a 100mm f4 Minolta MD (on slightly less old Panny G1). Hey if it's lasted for 30-40 years, I'm sure I won't be the one to wreck it. It was pouring rain and blowing hard, wish I had a tripod for better focusing and ideally my remote...

    Concrete Reflections

A quick snap outside my work. There is an open concrete area that is sometimes used as a dance floor, event area..or outdoor icerink. But when water is spilled there it turns into a mirror of sorts. I thought the symmetry was neat. (Fuji X-E1)

Macros from a dissected Oly Trip 35..RIP

The camera had died, and was left for parts..so I thought I would try to remove the lens while tinkering around in there. Evidently it's easier to take things apart rather than to put them back together again. Oh well, it was nice to see how a film camera looks like on the inside.. Shot...

Fuji Showcase Takumar 200mm 5.6 preset

A very interesting lens. Long, but very thin and light with a 49mm filter thread. It's narrower than the adapters! Not the most easy lens to hand-hold and I've found my long shots somewhat soft looking. Not sure if its due to atmospheric haze or if the adapter isn't focusing quite to...

    Vancouver Waterfront Reflections (long exposures)

(I've also posted this set FujiXspot--I guess there's some overlap between all of Amin's communities, and some people who are only on one site--apologies if you've seen it already!) Hi folks, Had some fun enjoying some mist and fog by the waterfront last night. Tried a couple different PP...

    Vancouver Waterfront Reflections (long exposures)

Hi folks, Had some fun enjoying some mist and fog by the waterfront last night. Tried a couple different PP styles, some are close to SOOC, others are hopefully not overcooked. The X-E1 is nice for slower paced photography. Shot with a combination of 35mm 1.4 and SuperTakumar 85mm 1.8...

Chinese Gardens- more experiments in giant composites

In case you missed my earlier thread here: https://www.photographerslounge.org/f22/urban-lions-experiments-large-sensor-look-18998/ I've been playing around with Microsoft ICE for some giant, shallow DOF stitches that is supposed to emulate a camera with a far larger sensor and many more...

Urban Lions - Experiments in the 'large sensor look'

Some use the term the 'Brenzier method' after the guy who has made it popular recently, or 'bokehrama' or perhaps more accurately a series of stitched photos designed to emulate the shallow depth of field achieved by large sensored cameras (but that's not quite as catchy). Thought I would...

    Fuji Showcase Super-Takumar SMC 85mm 1.8

I don't think I've seen any samples of this combination of lens with X-Trans sensor, so thought I would put up my first sample shots. My initial impression is that this is probably as big and as long as I would like to go on an X-E1 to shoot handheld. Focusing on moving objects is fairly...

Infrared Gear Sun Yat Sen Garden - Infrared B&W

Just a few snaps taken with X-E1, 35mm 1.4, and Hoya R72 filter. Evidently I am too thick to figure out color channel swapping, so I am stuck with simple B&W conversions. Love the rendering of the 35mm and its relatively close focus. The AF seems to hunt worse with the IR filter on though...

    Portland in B&W

Just a few random shots, all with XE1 and 35mm 1.4. A city full of character, definitely visit if you have the chance.

    Community (XE1+B&W)

2 shots from a walk in Vancouver's DTES (downtown eastside). Light processing in LR4 to add some grain. C&C welcome. :) DSCF0845 by illvilliaNY, on Flickr DSCF0844 by illvilliaNY, on Flickr

    Vancouver architecture patterns and lines

From a recent visit to the local convention centre..a beautiful building if you are ever in the neighbourhood. Not much of an architecture guy, but it was closed off for a private event and it seemed like a neat opportunity to check the place out while strangely empty. Shot with X-E1, 35mm...

Fuji Some early X-E1 shots (gotta love the 35mm 1.4 lens)

It's not a focal length that I feel very comfortable with..I prefer going an UWA zoom in the 18-35mm range or to go longer, but it's not a bad compromise for such a fast, sharp lens. I'm willing to crop in PP to fix my crooked horizons and slightly mangled compositions when shooting from the...

    Greetings from Vancouver (and mu-43)

Hi folks, My name is Trevor and I'm a relatively new photography enthusiast..been shooting for around 3-4 years now. Started off with an E-P1, then a G-1, then G-5 with a wide assortment of lenses. Recently I have supplemented my G-5 with the Fuji X-E1. I'm still largely a m43 guy (some of...
