Animals The Animal Kingdom: wild or domestic!

While at Yaquina Head, my son was able to spot some Sea Lemon nudibranchs! Unfortunately, it was a very difficult shooting conditions, so I didn't get great shots. But just seeing them and recording it was awesome.

    Nature Wildflowers in the Wild

Last year was the first time that I had come across this little flower. It is Orobanche uniflora, a parasitic plant in the broomrape family. The 'single' stalk and flower feed off the roots of other plants as it produces no chlorophyll. Yesterday I came across this bunch along a stream in the...

Animals The Animal Kingdom: wild or domestic!

I have been posting over the in the Adapted lens thread about testing my repaired Leica Macro-Elmar-R lens. But I though this deserved to be in a more popular thread. While testing in the flower garden in the morning light, I went to shoot this gaillardia that had recently opened up. I took...

    Nature Plants of all kinds

Here is something you don't get a chance to shoot upclose very often. There was tree downed by recent storms along the Foothills Parkway. It happened to have a nice population of mistletoe growing in it. It's pretty interesting that the parasite grows directly out of the host branches.

IMO. As illustrations they are nice. As photography, not so much. They are overprocessed to my liking.
