End of season burn out. I have it too, one more race this season that I may not make due to a medical thing, but am ready for it to be over. I go through this every year, and know that by December will be wishing we were racing again. I try not to make any permanent statements until spring!!

If the marks are off, then the bayonet connection is probably off. The hood can only go on right side up or at 180°, which is how the mount lines up. It looks to me like the front of that lens has been removed and not retightened all the way, or possibly overtightened, or something has slipped...

Those images were posted months ago, and neither looks like the 28-300. The fun part of rumors is the speculation. We’re not always rewarded with our hopes, but it’s fun nonetheless.
