End of season burn out. I have it too, one more race this season that I may not make due to a medical thing, but am ready for it to be over. I go through this every year, and know that by December will be wishing we were racing again. I try not to make any permanent statements until spring!!
Not too early at all! Some folks started putting theirs up a few weeks ago. We've started too. New to our 2020 Haunt is this Demon Zombie display, our old zombie display was hacked together and starting to show it's age. 'Demonica' is an animatronic reissue from Spirit Halloween. I built the...
If the marks are off, then the bayonet connection is probably off. The hood can only go on right side up or at 180Ā°, which is how the mount lines up. It looks to me like the front of that lens has been removed and not retightened all the way, or possibly overtightened, or something has slipped...
Except I found out a few weeks ago there is a neat hidden update or two they didn't tell us about. One is that you can put 5:4 (8 x 10) brackets in the viewfinder so you can compose with 8 x 10 in mind. That is important to me as this year I've been selling a dozen or so 8 x 10s each month...
I bought one along with a Tamron 17-28 when I bought my A7 IV. They were my first E-mount lenses. It was on sale at the local shop for some kind of special Sony day for $1635. I have never seen it since for that price, and used prices for LN lenses at the national resellers are still more. Very...
Well, the deals went early! There were only 50 available at 30% off, then more at 15%, and now there are a bout 900 at 10% off. Not worth it, I'll wait and see man on the street shots first.
I own one 28mm prime, an old JC Penny lens in Minolta MD. It's the size of this I find interesting. It isn't going to mean much on my full-size bodies, but it'd be a fun 42mm on my A6000. Still haven't decided, I'm curbing my gear spending some, trying to hold off for something I really need in...
It's going to be released tomorrow at Indiegogo. Sign up with your email and get 30% off on an 'early bird special'. I did, we'll see what happens!

Anyone interested in this lens? IQ looks acceptable for what it is. It'd be a nice compact lens on a C or APS-C. Aperture is fixed. Built in lens cap. Supposed to be just south of $100 US. Might be a fun lens, I've never had a pancake...
These were the first shots Iāve made of anything other than drag racing since April. I get burned out and donāt even want to pick up a camera. Just had the urge yesterday and it worked out!
What a day. I had some time today and it was beautiful outside, and there has been a pretty little black squirrel out there this summer that I wanted to get some photos of. I got a lot more than I expected! All of these were taken within 40' of my back door.
First surprise was a Bald Eagle...
A very sticky, fast track! People walking out of their shoes, one guy pulled the sole right off his boot! But it also causes trouble for the tuners. We had a high of 63Ā° F with a sun/cloud mix, and humidity with an air density altitude below 1000', the lowest it's been in a while. The track was...
Now that I've gotten to know many of these people on a personal level, I don't think they do much with forums. They communicate on FB, but most of their time is spent BS'ing around bonfires or in the garage working on cars. If one guy has serious trouble, or if he's running behind getting ready...

The Tamron 28-180/2.8 looks interesting. Iāve been contemplating the 35-150/2-2.8. Part of me doesnāt want to give up the fast short end, but in reality itās only f/2 from 35-41, then itās f/2.2 until 60. After that itās 2.5 and 2.8. I think the added focal range is worth the trade off for the...
Next up, Fstoppers accidentally posted a review of the new Godox. The accident? Some of the photos used in the review were made using Sonyās as yet unannounced 85/1.4 GM II. Oops.
Seems like a lot lately. Tamron 50-200/2.8, 28-180/2.8, Viltrox 28/4.5 Pancake, Sigma 28-105/2.8. Tamron 50-300/4.5-6.3, Sigma 28-45/1.8, Tamron 28-300/4-7.1, others from Viltrox, Meike, etc.
These are rich times we're living in, not sure I've ever before seen a lens selection as vast as this...
Those images were posted months ago, and neither looks like the 28-300.
The fun part of rumors is the speculation. Weāre not always rewarded with our hopes, but itās fun nonetheless.
It's ok. Still getting used to it, although I think I have it dialed in pretty well. I finally settled on the best AF setup for this kind of stuff, at least for me, someone else may have another way. As for any advantage, it really comes down to obscenely fast AF. I don't think it's any more...
The second annual Night of Fire at Milan Dragway. There was racing, but Night of Fire is about the spectacle and exhibition. The name speaks for itself.

Is your camera an SLT-A65, or an SLT-A65V? GPS is only available on the 'V' model. If it is a V, then as painful as it may be, if all else fails I'd do a factory reset and start from scratch. There've been so many times a certain feature is blocked on a used camera due to some weird setting by...
I've been using a Pergear 260G 'Pro' since the beginning of the season and have been very satisfied so far. Have made many thousands of shots, formatted it a dozen times, uploaded photos, etc. with no issues. It also comes with 5 years of support. This looks like a newer line from Pergear, a...
