If it is absolutely needed because you will be using it in a dusty environment or what not then you have to do what you have to do. Photography is usually about compromise so in certain situations it would make sense to possibly sacrifice a touch of IQ rather than possibly sacrifice a lens...
Appreciate that mate. It took about two hours to get that. These things aren't fussed about the vibration of waves hitting the shore only a few metres away, but they run scared from the vibration of me scratching my leg at the same distance. Go figure... 🤣

Pretty straight forward, .5 is 2:1, so .6 is 1.8:1 for anyone who cares. The unit of calculation is irrelevant really, all that matters is we understand how well it can take a picture of a bug. ✅️
