    Ricoh GR lens stuck

I've had my GR since Jan (from amazon uk) and today I went to use it only to realise the lens wouldnt come out and the lens "door" is not closed. Anyone seen this before? I've tried taking the battery out. The display comes on but seems to power itself back off when i try to do anything...

    Ricoh Finally Bought the GR

Thanks for looking Martin! I bet you CAN be tempted ;-) A friend of mine has the RX100 but he loves 28mm and finds he almost never zooms. If you're happy fixed the GR is obviously a better although more expensive option. Good luck tonight! :-)

    Ricoh Finally Bought the GR

I got mine a couple of months or so ago and it's the best camera I've ever used. Hopefully it'll be a lesson to all other serious compact makers that you can do something that sort of size and still have fantastic ergonomics and controls.

Micro 4/3 Olympus OMD EM-10 anyone?

I'm loving the O75 on the EM10 so far. I don't feel the need for the grip yet either. All in black of course! ;-) I chose the 45 for indoor portraits and 75 for outdoor, which kind of forces me to the Oly 17mm 1.8 next instead of the P20 I think.

Micro 4/3 Olympus OMD EM-10 anyone?

The EM10 also has arguably better viewfinder, button feel (due to no sealing?) and layout. The weather sealing might be something you want but will your lens also have it? I also chose it as I liked the smaller size.

Micro 4/3 Olympus OMD EM-10 anyone?

Moonmind: We've both got the GR and EM10 and I think it's a great combo :-) I spent the weekend using the EM10 on a family break and I'm really pleased as it did exactly what I wanted from it. Ease of use, superb portrait fast lens (45/75mm 1.8). Lovely IS and face recognition. Ergonomics...

I need serious help choosing a camera...

I've just got the EM10. Based on reading your experiences I'd say maybe try one of them but definitely with the grip. It's a fairly small camera so for you I'd go with the grip. I haven't had a problem with the menu system personally. The thing which makes it ok for me is that if you keep...

I was wondering this too as a 17mm 1.8 is on my shopping list.

Ricoh The Ricoh GR image thread

The GR has pushed me to just try things when I wouldn't have even had a camera on me in the past. Loving that.

Micro 4/3 Olympus OMD EM-10 anyone?

Will post pics once I'm up and running. I've got my Ricoh GR for everyday shooting, which is almost always with me. Also if I like this new move into m43 I'll probably look at adding a 17mm and maybe even 75mm eventually. I've spent years photographing family and friends with a Canon 7D and...

Micro 4/3 Olympus OMD EM-10 anyone?

I've got one on preorder. My first try of m43. I'm going for it simply because of price and it being a bit smaller than the other OMDs. I wasn't actually fussed about a viewfinder but comparing the size of this to an ep5 I thought why not have the option. I've gone for body only and picking...

Ricoh Best complimentary longer lens cam to go with GR?

Really interesting thoughts all! Enjoyed reading this and going off and looking into all the different cameras you are using alongside a GR. I've actually decided that the m43/45mm 1.8 is a very good choice for me. However, since that lens is arguably going to make the camera not always...

Ricoh Best complimentary longer lens cam to go with GR?

Andrew the Leica is indeed nice. I'd rather keep the price under a uk grand though. grillec: Everything on paper about the fuji xe2 says it would fit the bill, but i sold my x100 as I never got on with it. In particular the jumpy focusing and easy to knock dials. It puts me off going that way...

Micro 4/3 Panasonic Lumix GM1 Anybody?

I've just been talking about maybe getting the GM1 with a 45mm (and later a 17mm) to compliment my Ricoh GR. Can anyone confirm how auto ISO works? Can you set min shutter speed?

Ricoh Best complimentary longer lens cam to go with GR?

Nick, I am intrigued by the Sigma but based on reviews my instinct is it's not quite the one for me. The results I've seen from it are superb though. Thanks Ray. Yeah the Olympus 45mm 1.8 is the lens I'm looking at. The GM1 is looking favourite right now depending on how it actually feels and...

Ricoh Best complimentary longer lens cam to go with GR?

I'm in love with my GR. It's that simple. I'd still however like to find a convenient replacement for my DSLR for candid portraits and any time I need a bit more length e.g. around 80mm equiv. The GR has shown me the great advantage of having something that fits in your pocket. It's also...
