DR 100 for jpegs with highlights +1 and shadows -1 using provia film simulation For pp shots I tend to apply basic colour adjustments in lightroom then flatten the image and play with curves and levels and sharpening in PS.

His LR presets are decent and I use them a lot - like you I prefer a simple workflow in one program. However if your planning on printing you will be much better off using iridient or his PS presets.

could you post some pictures of the size of it as this is the only thing putting me off - is it much bigger than the lens hood?

Agreed with all points, A narrower FOV is defo easier to use though as you don't have to worry about distractions and get as close to the subject if its a candid. i think its just a case of taking more pictures to get used to it, spending a bit more time composing & not rushing the shot... As...

Only there when i really crank up the sharpening in LR, but not bad enough for me to ditch my x100. I have iridient but don't use it much as most of the time I'm satisfied with the jpegs or in camera editor if I don't get the lighting right. Maybe see if you can get some raf files to play around...

Rather than start a new thread, i thought i would pop some more pictures up of a trip to Southbank and St Paul's on Saturday. Most are SOOC jpegs with some minor adjustments - the sunset over St Paul's is RAW as i needed to pull up the shadows. Starting to get more familiar with it now and...

im not sure i get it LOL... in short is the benefit that i can under expose by 3 stops and then use post processing to pull out the shadows? :confused:

Cool will order the lens hood & thumb grip! Really love the camera, so much fun to use and the image quality is superb. Wasn't sure I would like the 35mm fov but used to it now and it's perfect.

i wouldn't only be focus on landscape photos, there will no doubt be plenty of chances to take portraits of some interesting people too! Especially if you visit some of the temples.

Love this camera, took it out for a test drive at the Chinese New Year celebrations today and was shocked at the pictures! Need to learn how to pp the x-trans photos, find that doing it in camera works best at the moment - but was surprised at how much "pop" the raw files had. Chinese New Year...

decided on the x100s and pulled the trigger on the black model. i do really like the x-pro, but as has been said i already have a good system camera with a decent 50mm prime & i felt i was only really considering it over the x100s for the amazing value offer.
