Totally agree. The major advantage of 27mm is a small factor: I can keep camera with attached lens in a pocket of my jacket.

Save on body for a better lens: buy X-Pro1.

I use only pancake 27mm lens and very happy with it: small, sharp, light, inexpensive. You can also consider more expensive 18mm pancake: small, light, sharp and wider, i.e. potentially better for landscape.

My understanding is that AJ37 complains about AF lag. The thread you are refering to is for MF. It may be or may be not the same issue...

It all depends on situation. For example, shorter distance leads to bigger error.

3d party compact/pancake? What are you talking about, guys? An adapter doubles the size! Better buy a 3d part "normal" lens with wide aperture. BTW, Fujinon 27/2.8 with 7 blades is great one: sharp, no flare, really compact, solid built, small (i.e. cheaper) 39mm filter, very fast.
