Birding with the 50/2? This little chap is a fantail, or pīwakawaka, one of the more common native species here in New Zealand. They’re quite fearless and very quick.

Oh yes, my old Minolta A-mount lenses did a lot of grinding and buzzing too. I had no real issues with the image quality of the 27, I mostly wasn't so fond of the focal length.

I got rid of my 18/2 and 27/2.8 partly because of how loud they were to focus. I will only tolerate it on my 35/1.4 :D

You're a convincing bunch aren't you? :laugh: So, I stopped by my favourite camera store on the way home and got myself a 35/2 — it's absolutely great. Sharp at f/2, super quiet, and could there be a faster focussing lens for Fujifilm? I'll try to post some images later.

I already have the 23 and 50 f2 lenses and like them both. I also have the 35/1.4 which I love, but would appreciate a faster focusing, WR lens now I have an XP3.

Beginning to think I should get this lens.

I picked up a new X-Pro3 in Dura silver a couple of weeks back, for barely more than the price of the painted black version. I absolutely love this camera. My 35/1.4 is glued to it for the moment. It’s a big step up from my X-E3 that it replaces.

I believe this only works on cameras that support tethering. I do agree it’s annoying.

I must confess it's currently sitting on the mantelpiece in the living room. :cool:

Six weeks of waiting, but my TP leather half-case finally arrived, curiously via German post. Nice matching hand strap provided as a free gift. This will be my fourth TP case (having put one on each of my X-E 1, 2, & 3 cameras), nicely made without the price tag of other brands.

One of the neighbours' chickens, through our adjoining slat fence. No crop, and just a slight bump in Definition to improve the contrast. I find this lens a bit patchy at the long end, but it can still deliver.

Thanks, René! This is the version one lens. I bought it six years ago almost to the day, while visiting friends in Adelaide, Australia. It cost me AU$275 new, and the performance has far eclipsed the price.

I have the silver. I was very tempted by the dark green case, but the darker brown is a little more classic. If I'd bought the black I'd have gone the same with the case, as I did with my black X-E3.
