Do you think you will miss the lack of IS in the camera body? For my self I do not miss it. I use the 16-55 and this one comes without IS. Still I use this lens most of the time with no complaining.

For off camera flash I use two Cactus RF60 flashes triggered by a Cactus V6. Or an Nissin i40 with a Pixel cable for off who flashing. Nice thing is the Cactus flashes have power control when used with a cactus v6

Why two lenses? Every one has there own way of photographing. This also means there own choices for lenses etc. Buying a lens the best thing to do test it your self. For my self I can be on the road only with the 18-55 or even only with the 35mm for a few weeks and not missing the extra mm. But...

I looked a different options. I ended up with keeping to bring my retina MacBook Pro 13 or Surface Pro3. The Surface Pro3 is a very light tablet/laptop. I have 256GB in the Surface and rMBP. For me these systems are used for traveling. So I can backup and also edit photos while traveling.
