    Expressionist Photography

That's a good question. Though I haven't really kept it that private in that I have shown works in local group shows and my own exhibition. My main reason not to have posted much here or in other online places is that responses tend to be questions about how I create my work. To me that is just...

Itā€™s a secret. Or The hell if I know. Or My K1 and an old E-M10. Plus a few film cameras that just take up shelf space.

    Expressionist Photography

I realize I may be the only one to post images in this thread. Expressionism is the best term I have found for my more artistic work that I don't share that often. But I think it is time I get over myself and share it a bit more online. So to kick it off, here is a recent piece. My work is all...

Software Camera Profiles in RAW Processing Software

Then I took the image and developed them more to my eye - using other LR sliders as well. I used various different profiles here. Color Fidelity Standard: Camera Matching Landscape: Color Fidelity Portrait: Color Fidelity High: Maybe this is helpful. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Software Camera Profiles in RAW Processing Software

This will be an image heavy post, or series. I went downtown to the annual "Chalk Walk." I though it might be a good test of color for @agentlossing. I corrected a bit of shadow/highlights on these images, but nothing else save the color profiles. They were then all exported to Flickr. Image...

Software Camera Profiles in RAW Processing Software

I think the Camera Matching profiles in LR for the K1 are pretty good. They are probably 90% or better to a good final image. I prefer the Landscape for a bit punchier colors and the Portrait for subtlety, especially when using legacy glass. I am going to play more with the Color Fidelity ones...

I can't really help you. I pay for the LR subscription, so the camera matching profiles just exist for me. I usually use them as a starting point. Although I did recently buy the Color Fidelity ones that you use, simply because I really liked your output from the K1 using them. I haven't used...

Your Top 3 for March 2024

I wonder if anyone has suggestions for making these thread more popular for people to post in. Over at the mu-43 forum they seemed to be very popular threads. With a couple pages worth of posts. I can't seem to garner that interest over here. They were always some of my favorite threads as it...

Compact camera with B&W in mind

Thanks for all the input so far. It looks like everyone is reinforcing most of the options I already had in mind. The GRiii has already been at the top of my list. It will probably stay there. The GX9 seems like a really interesting option. It also keeps me in mft, so that is a plus. I...

Compact camera with B&W in mind

I am not against just going with the E-M10. But I mostly moved on from the 16mp mft sensor because I felt it lacked DR and color depth when compared to other sensors. (I went with the K1.) Granted, using it specifically for monochrome will mitigate some of that. But that 16mp sensor seems...

If you were to look for a compact camera with the idea that you mainly want to shoot in B&W, what camera would you look into? That is basically where I am right now. Ricoh Highlight Diffusion Filter Replacing ND Filter In GRIII/x Submodels

It is actually just replacing the physical ND filter with the mist filter. You can't really do that with software. From looking at some of the images here, I actually like the effect that is happening. A GRiii is on my short list of things I would like to purchase. This iteration might be it...

Pentax Q and Panasonic GM have an illegitimate offspring

To me it looks like it was 'designed' by the engineer that put it together. A simple rectangle box is the most efficient shape.
