Will do, thanks. I wonder which one uses the most battery.

Thanks for both of those replies. So, BobbyT, should I be using the electric shutter for general photography of more or less static subjects? Such as landscape type scenes?

Can someone tell me what the advantage of the electric shutter is please - I have TRIED reading the manual, but to be honest, I don't understand. What is this 'rolling shutter' phenomenon? When and why would you use the electric shutter - someone said wide open in bright sun, but why the...

Thought these fitted the brief of 'dramatic black & white' taken yesterday on a fishing trip. Then coming in after dark, we lost an engine and had to limp home 28 miles, which meant we were a bit late back!

    Fuji Showcase 16-55mm 2.8

I had an hour in the morning. And I tried stitching a panoramic, not in phtoshop, I don't have anything that fancy. This was from Panorama Maker 6. I didn't have a spirit level so just had to guess it. If you look at the far water level, it isn't that far off, perspective from the wide angle...

Fuji Bouncing about on the sea

Using the XT2 in anger, as in for a paid job. The French boat builder ferried me out to the Isle d'Oloron and wined and dinned me for 4 days while I shot the factory processes, interiors and action shots on a couple of boats for them. These were taken from a small boat that had waves coming over...

Had a friend to stay for a couple of days. We took our dog and went to the canal to cast some lures....and I took the camera. We caught a few small pike and Tigs had a great time, but I got a few nice pictures which made me very happy.

    Fuji Remote release options?

I meant one of those cable operated things...I didn't know there was one already in the camera - it was the cable I didn't want ! Your hot shoe device was on the money for what I had in mind - but it still meant pressing the tit for each shot....the self release jiggery will just keep shooting...

    Fuji Remote release options?

Something has just occured to me.... The XT2 has a built in intervalometer. If I set the shot up, with the camera to shoot a picture every second.....I don't need a remote release, I just need to ditch about 15 shots from the start of the sequence because they will be empty. From then on, I...

Wow, how do you know Amazon Uk has it? You're in America! Amazing. I don't even know how to get hold of Amazon over here. I can't find a telephone number for them. As I say, it will be when I have some money, but that doesn't seem too expensive.

I did look and saw it was for Nikon...I have gone back and looked again and see it is for Fuji too! I will explore the 'shipping to UK' opportunity next week, when I have some money, hopefully. Being 'retired' but with no pension and no crash payout yet, money is a bit tight. That is coming...

I don't have a phone that will do it. Not buying one either! I quite like that delivery men can't find our house (it has only been here since 1674 ! ) I also like that people can't get hold of me if I turn my phone off. It is very liberating. It is also quite satisfying to know you are making...

    Fuji Remote release options?

Thanks for the help. I understand the limitation of infra red, but it has worked fine up to now for what I need. The only drawback is it is a one shot option - or one string of shots (you can set it for 5 consecutive, motordrive, shots), then have to go back and reset it to do another one...

I need to be able to set the camera up and fire it from my position some distance away - no wires and no physical connection to it. I am struggling with the XT-2. I know you have all helped greatly already and without it I tink I would have taken the camera back. It is so complicated, yet by the dials on top I thought it was going to be much simpler. Anyway, I don't know what I have done, but I cannot get either lens to...

    Fuji Remote release options?

I bought a little button that fires the remote setting on my Nikon P7800 compact. It works from a good 20 feet away, provided the sunlight is not straight at it. I think it is infra red. Cost £2.99 and works brilliantly, I can set the release for 10 seconds, push the tit and it starts the...

    Fuji Focus Tracking

What you are describing is basically the old pre-focus technique. Years ago, we used this with manual lenses (I am talking 1980s now). That technique was further refined to increase the panning blurr by follow focussing DURING the exposure. Stood or kneeling for the World Superbikes on the...
