Pentax My First Outing With The Pentax K10D

Nice shots. I still get tempted by an APS-C Pentax. That said, now is this your only Pentax? I thought you had a K3? Or was it a K5? as well? or before? Or am I just stoned?

Nikon New 28-400 f/4-8 VR - versatile lens for Nikon Z FX

As I said, it's a good one for some, just not the lens for me when I get a Z5 to put all my adapted lenses on it :D

Nikon New 28-400 f/4-8 VR - versatile lens for Nikon Z FX

Even once I get a Z, that's probably not the lens for me though I can imagine it be used by quite a few people. Too long a zoom range and too slow at that far end for me. I'd rather just get 2.8 primes instead if I buy any native lenses.

Heavy snow tonight. 30mph/50kmph on the main drag to work tonight at 10 PM. 4 wheel drive turned on too. Not really a fun drive but I've had far worse - worse weather driving a semi with an 80,000 lb load for example :dash2:

Yum - growing up on a farm the chickens were one of the things I loved. Fun birds both in the yard and ... after ;) And the Summitar remains my favorite Leica lens - wide open it has the most entertaining and utterly out of control OOF areas of any lens I know. Also yummy.

Sorry, Matt but now that I have that Amedeo adapter in hand, I'm going to tweak my choice a small bit. I'm still going to do a 28/3.5 lens on my M 240... But now it's going to be the W-Nikkor 28/3.5 S mount for Nikon Rangefinders. Thanks.

The Amadeo adapter arrived today. I'm pretty excited actually. From the daily pics thread, in the mailbox: Didn't really need that big of a box, did it? Silly post office. Cute leather bag though. Yep, Nikon RF version. Looks amazing with everything put together with a Brian S tweaked...

Yet another local sculpture. It amazes me how my city went from, perhaps, a half dozen very blah ones when I was in high school to over 150 really good pieces of public sculpture now 40 years (!) later.

So after my VA doctor's appointment this afternoon I took a hike along the Chippewa River. At one point I could see the power house of the dam holding back Lake Wissota. This will always be humorous to me because of the movie Titanic. See, the character "Jack" is supposed to be from Chippewa...

When I was growing up, there was a local brewery called "Walter's" in my home town. It made an OK, if very unoffensive and under hopped pilsen style lager. They went under around 1980, being damned by being simultaneously too big and too small, to be economically feasible for the beer market...

Finally had a few free minutes here at work, so pulled the card from my camera and fired up the copy of my app on USB. Hadn't gotten anything today for my personal "Picture a day" challenge and so while on my way to work tonight I was passing by my late paternal uncle's neighborhood bar. I...

Film Spotmatic, too good, too common to be interesting?

If you really want to go with a Spotmatic, I'd suggest the Spotmatic F as it's the most recent and the most versatile. It has an on-off switch for the meter, can do open aperture metering with SMC lenses and is all around the best of the breed. While it was designed for mercury batteries, it has...

Film Spotmatic, too good, too common to be interesting?

I did too before I made my response ;) I have been trolling ebay for a Spotmatic F lately. I did find one recently that is listed as working perfectly but it looks like it got put in a rock tumbler for a week. I'm not a big cosmetics person so for $40 I may still bite unless the OP wants to get...
