I see there are quite a few X100V cameras hitting the used market as the successor is about to be announced. I haven't bought a camera in years....and it's entirely possible that after...
Since I haven't stopped by this website for several years, I thought I'd tease you all a bit. Yesterday and today have been the stuff of dreams weather-wise. High of about 77 degrees, but with a nice breeze to keep one from sweating. Mostly sunshine with a few fluffy, beautiful clouds.
I hope...
good gravy......those are some fine "snaps"
I'm wondering if you are the Paul I knew from around 10 years ago from here and flickr. Your photographic eye is certainly similar.
I think another possibility would be the implementation offered by Sony, where one sensor is optimized for resolution and another one is optimized for dynamic range (of maybe some other variable) .....for people who don't need more Mega Pickles.
I think at this point of the game, one might consider buying a camera for the way in which one uses it or how it handles or the pleasure that it brings. There is nothing here IQ-wise to recommend either one of them over any of your other 3 cameras or likely your iPhone.

I bought this last week while thinking it was the E-M1. I can't handle this tiny little camera with my big meaty man-paws.
I canāt find a...
You're about one generation ahead of my most recent purchase.
I would assume that the only real difference is body size....at least for me. But because I was being thrifty, I bought a used E-M5ii
I should have probably bought an E-M1 or E-M1ii and pocketed (or paid) the difference. I find the...

I bought this in the classifieds section in Nov. for $699. I took one photo with it just to make sure it worked. Otherwise, it has sat unused on my desk. I must...
That is the day I most dread....and there is no way to prepare for it. I'm so sorry for your loss. I think our hobby of trying to capture the light can be of some help (if anything can). I hope that memories of the good times will bring you some consolation during this time of grief and loss.
Great results, Martin.
Can you show us what these looked like before running the through the Photoshop process. I'm sure if I more more tuned into infrared photography, I would know what they looked like SOOC.
I think some of the videos that I have seen are hilarious where they show some disheveled college student who is excited that he has made made $280 (on paper) in one day.
And meanwhile the hedge fund has lost hundreds of millions.
Makes me wonder if the trading platform Robinhood ("Steal from...
Hopefully he pops in and shares some images soon. But I do know that the Covid-19 was spreading like wildfire up in his neck of the woods around that time.
I had seen it before when swapping out a memory card. But I feel like it was with a Sony camera....or maybe I was switching a card FROM a Sony into a Fuji.
It IS a gift....it is your Fuji camera telling you that "someone" gave you this image.....it wasn't captured by your Fuji. And that is why you can't process the file with your camera
I think i bought and/or sold stuff to an Ed here many many moons ago. I think it may have been you. Welcome back and have fun shooting with your new Fuji!
The 120 is popular for it's built-in phono pre-amp and USB connectability.....but the DJ needs neither of those "features" so the 140X drops them and the company spends the money on things more important to a DJ, like a more industrial suspension system to keep loud sounds and bouncing floors in...
Hmmmm. The LP140X does not have a built-in phono preamp. You won't be able to use that with powered speakers (I don't think) without first going into a phono preamplifier.
It puts the seller in a real bind when the shipper is the REASON for the return. The USPS needs to get blown up and start from scratch.
Or just stick to delivering mail and leave package delivery to the ones that can do it properly. The problem is all the money is in packages. They need to...
You must have misunderstood me, Sue.
I am NOT anti sci-fi. I just haven't seen anything good from the Stars Wars brand since the 80s. I obviously haven't seen it all, but I just lost interest in anything with their branding.
Maybe I'll check out Dark Matter since you both recommend it.
When the original Star Wars came out, I was in grade school....and named Luke. I've put up with people doing the "Luke, I am your father" in horrible Darth Vader voices ever since then. I LOVED that first movie....bought a bunch of the toys and played with them. I loved the Empire Strikes Back...
OK....for real this time. I will list on eBay tomorrow, but today you can get this whole Olympus package for $150......I bought it all used for $200 because I thought it was a steal. Give yourself something nice for Christmas.
I am in 100% agreement with Matt.
If you prefer split tone version, You can also still have the flag in color.....it would just be a bit more work on post-processing.
I can tell you from personal experience, Steve. I bought a gently used X100F a month or two ago and I have not missed a single improvement that the V brings to the table. Although, to be honest, I also haven't used the camera once. YMMV.
You almost got me to cry (admittedly not that difficult these days). The combination of your photos and your friends' poetic words is powerful.
And I love the post script....as we all await that day when we awake (next spring?)
Thanks for sharing.
I haven't heard them, but they get good reviews. I think they are likely a good price to performance buy. And if she loves listening to records, you can get her an upgrade for next Christmas (if she even sees the need for one)
at my record shop, I suggest that if the max budget for the turntable alone is under $300.....the only two choices for a NEW turntable are the ones debated about it here..... U-Turn Orbit Plus VS. Audio Technica AT-LP120 turntable?
If the budget can be stretched upwards a bit, one can get a...
Tim, I think you forgot to list a price for your camera. No matter how nice it is, people need to know how much it will cost. I'll delete this post after you add a price.
