Fuji Showcase TTArtisan AF 27mm f/2.8 - fatally flawed.

Didn't want to imply criticism, it's always useful to know the limits of a lens, but not to have unreasonable expectations ! Gerry

Fuji Showcase TTArtisan AF 27mm f/2.8 - fatally flawed.

Yes, I don't often (never?) shoot landscape at 2.8.... Informal tests need to be realistic of typical use. No real surprise that a cheap wide angle has edge falloff at wide apertures both sharpness and illumination. Gerry

Fuji Fringer : new firmware released

I have had email exchange with them about both lenses, they weren't very encouraging! Maybe I should try sending them files, but I think that is for when a lens is on the list but a particular version doesn't work. Gerry

    Fuji Weā€™ll, that escalated quickly

I quote the Fuji staff at the big uk photo exhibition 2 days ago, no news of any discontinuations of 26mpx cameras. Xpro 3, Xs10 and Xt4 openly displayed and demonstrated alongside newer stuff Just another misunderstanding or misinformation Gerry

    Fuji Weā€™ll, that escalated quickly

Well Sony makes the sensors I think, and they dont have a 40mpx aps-c camera, or even a 26mpx last time I looked. But it makes sense to the producers, force everyone to buy the new higher priced sensor, whether they want/need it or not. Gerry

    Fuji Weā€™ll, that escalated quickly

Well the big uk photo show is on next weekend, it will be interesting to see what is on display for the UK and European market. But they cant stop supplying all cameras that don't have the new XH2 sensors, take a while to market replacement models for Xe, Xpro, Xs and both Xt lines and they...

Not likely the gear after 2 to 5 mins, perhaps flaps etc? Take off seems to have very high climb rates initially to get the noise away from the housing around airports, then they throttle back and level out a bit. I do remember the noise levels, quiter now. Gerry

    Show Clouds Sunrise/Sunset

I had my 78th birthhday last week, and have been growing vegetables in my garden(s) for nearly 50 years, and even in England's moderate climate it is becoming more difficult each year, with dry spells folowed by torrential rain. I think discussion of climate change on a photo forum is likely to...

    Fuji New Fuijfilm gear ...

I used a 'standard' macro a lot when doing copy slides and negs, in my case a 55mm Micro Nikkor, but since that all gets done on a scanner I prefer and find more useful a longer focal length for 3 dimensional macro work, still the 55mm but on aps-c, or even the 100mm Micro Nikkor, so not too...

5 1/4 inch floppy disks, early 80s, I remember them well, might have a few somewhere! Replaced 8 inch ones, and were in turn replaced by the 3 1/2 inch, which aren't really floppy any more. Still have a USB drive for the last ones. Edit, I see others beat me to it! My wife was an early...

    Scenic Show: Clouds

I've never seen the effect of the low sun extend up so far into the sky. Where we go on the west coast of Wales we get wonderful sunsets, the flat we use is about 200m from the west facing sea front, so its easy to nip down if it looks promising, although energy reserves are becoming a problem...

A really good set @pdk42 , brightened my morning, thank you! The uk landscape might not be as dramatic as some, but our (in)famous weather does give great opportunities for pictures with impact, as you have done here. I started digital with a Panasonic G1, and have some great landscapes with it...

Yes, but just about every other heading, brand specific or Film etc has a gallery too, and within a brand gallery such as Nikon each lens has a thread. Thats a lot of clicking to ser if any lmages are of interest. I can easily see equipment threads on Whats New, and open if of interest...

Seems a bit presumptious for a newbie to suggest changes I know, my enquiry was to find out how the New Media choice worked, thanks to @John King for explaining it, although Instill see nothing in it. If it really isn't used at the moment, rather than discarding it could those headings be...

Thanks John, I am familiar with the software on FujiX forum. That has a Home page that displays all new photos in chrononlogical order, and Whats New, new Media also displays thumb nails of new photos posted, in chronological order, very convenient and easy to see all creative content.
