I just treated myself to a small retirement gift. I re-aquired the XF27mmf2.8 R WR for a small walkabout option with my X-T5.

Single In Single in April (AiS) 2024 - announcement

That Sigma 18-50 opens up lots of opportunities as it's close focus distance is amazing for a mid-range zoom. I'm still undecided if I will enter this challenge as April 1 will be my first day of official retirement and I have a large to-do list waiting for me. But if I do decide to participate...

Please forgive me if I gave the impression I was complaining. I was not. Just a bit confused but as I suspected there was more to it than I understood. I get it now, thank you for explaining.

    Feedback Alert, blue dot behavior?

I probably didn't explain myself very well. What I meant was that if I click and view one (of several unread) alerts, when I go back to the dropdown list all the blue dots next to posts I haven't viewed are gone. Makes it more difficult to assess which ones I have or haven't viewed.

    Feedback Alert, blue dot behavior?

Previously, when clicking on the Alert bell, new posts in threads I've participated in are indicated by a blue dot on the left side. It used to be that when I clicked on one of these posts and viewed it, the blue dot in the dropdown would disappear, but the unread blue dots remained. Now (for...

This is the clip that I replaced the metal buckle with. Much easier one handed release and doesn't scratch up furniture.

Glad to hear you like it. I have the Rugged-wear version also. A modification I did to mine (in addition to partially covering the velcro) was to replace the metal buckle with a polycarbonate snap buckle. I can try to send a link if you're interested.

The pouches on the ends are quite useful, and have flaps to secure contents. The front pocket however has no flap so I have to be thoughtful about what I put in there. Iā€™ve had two f5xbā€™s and the Velcro divider attachment (the fuzzy part inside the bag) wore out and since there are no other...

Amen to sustainability. Although this is the reason I still have way too many unused camera bags lying around (according to the spousal counterpart).

Fuji Fuji X100VI coming Feb 20th

I would think the new NP-W235 would be a necessity with the implementation of IBIS and more processing power requirement. I can't see it not being thicker at least. Having said that, from my experience owning several X100 models a little added "thickness" would make it a little easier to hold...

Fuji Showcase Fuji 35mm F2 WR

Cool mural. Probably my favorite lens to walk around with (attached to a camera body of course, LOL). I like the 23/2 also but sometimes find it a bit too wide, unless indoors.

    Fuji I was wondering ...

Had it. Very sharp and nice contrast, things I personally like. Pairs nicely with the 23mm f2, plus I like that itā€˜s WR. I found myself not using it so much and determined at the time that 50mm on a zoom was more useful for me. I have since re-purchased the 23/2 and am considering another 50 in...

GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Yes, the WR was also a driving force since moving over to Sigma for my wide and normal zooms (still have the 70-300). I wanted something small and WR to slap on the XT3/5 that could always easily be in the bag. Plus I've always liked the images from this lens. It might not have fairy dust but...

Film People have asked, What was your first camera?

Olympus XA2, that I haven't been able to find since our last move 20 years ago. My late Mom got it for me at Christmas in 1979 when I went into the Navy. I kick myself for losing that.
