Just picked up a used M9. These are with the 90 Elmarit-m. Not as sharp as the a7r, but I prefer the rendering and shooting experience of a range-finder.

To me the Leica is more "three dimensional " than the Sony. I owned an M9 for a brief time and while I loved the camera I just couldn't justify the cost, but when I compare my Leica photos to either my X-pro1 or my x-100 the Leica photos are just more pleasing to my eyes. Nice shot with both...

I love the M9 for it's simplicity. Nothing fancy or complicated, it just takes pictures. Expensive, well, yes. I gave up a bad habit a little over a year ago and with the money I saved I rewarded myself a used M9. It goes everywhere with me.

I use it and really like it, however I've not used any others so I can't really compare. It does a great job of removing noise(I just use the basic controls) but you'll also lose detail. It's very simple to use. Hope this helps.
