New Year's resolution: I give up!

Totally agree. I was made redundant from work a year and a half ago and aside from owning a 20 year old campervan that eats money, I have far less income than previously. Lots of gear I'd love to have but no longer possible. So am concentrating on what I have and trying to improve my technique...

Micro 4/3 EPL1 vs. the Stylus 1-- A unscientific comparison

For me the choice would be down to whether you want a camera which is a complete " package " as in a non-detachable lens like the Stylus, or a system like your current E-PL1 with separate lenses. If you already have several lenses , why not consider an upgrade to the E-PL1 body ?

New Year's resolution: I give up!

Liking this topic. 2014 will be a no-spend year for me. Not only for photo gear but in other areas. Partly due to now being un-employed and with far less money to waste, but I ask myself- why do I want/need more gear ? I need to use what I already have.

Pentax The Pentax Q - a real World user review

Really enjoying your thread and continuing to learn about my Q . Definitely under-rated system .... the only thing for me that is " missing" is a detachable electronic viewfinder like the VF-2 on the Oly. For me and my eyes I would find it nigh onto impossible to get any sharp focus with the LCD...

My thoughts on Focus accuracy.....( manual as opposed to AF )

Not sure if this is on the " correct " forum as it's an opinion... Over the course of the past 10 years or so I've enjoyed using my older lenses on digital- started with Tamron Adaptall on the KM 5D DSLR and continuing with many more on the Olympus micro-four thirds bodies. For me the...

What's Your "Grab and Go" Camera?

Right now it's my Pentax Q plus f1.9 prime, as it's such a tiny package and I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with the digital/art filters.

Hiding EXIF info - so irritated!

I don't hide mine but then I use a lot of old glass/manual focus so the only exif data on Flickr is/are the camera settings and not the lens- which I usually write on the description anyway. It can be annoying when peeps hide theirs as I get a lot of ideas/inspiration from other people's images...

Pentax Loving my Pentax Q !

Not invested in adapters yet as I use my E-PL1 and E-P3 for manual focus with the electronic viewfinder. But so far I agree the results are better than I was expecting especially with the fast prime. Cath In Memoriam: Tinker's Mum

Pentax Loving my Pentax Q !

Been a member of this site for some years but not felt inclined to post until recently. I'm an Olympus micro four thirds user and very much into old glass. The Q appealed as having owned a Pentax Auto 110 full kit, I wanted to have the Q as the nearest digital equivalent regards size/ form...

    Hi from England !

I rarely buy cameras these days....well new ones that is. The only one for the past 2 years is my E-PL1 and that was to be able to use my old 35mm lenses on. I can't see me "upgrading" ever. I have so many cameras and want to concentrate on using them. Particularly the film ones as I have an...

Film What Film Cameras do you use?

omg where do I start ? lol. Baby Brownie when I was a kid...a Leica CL- a gift from my ex-husband about 1974 ish ? His lenses so when we split I pawned it :(. A Konica POP - shot hundreds of rolls with that camera-hexanon lens...since then a few slr's all second hand - 2 or 3 Minolta's including...

    Film Film camera envy

I think it's down to the " cult" status. The Hexar and a few others command top money irrespective of image quality etc. Not knocking the Hexar but I've had amazing film images from point and shoot film compacts that I've paid next to nothing for...( currently learning how to scan negatives ).

    Film Film camera envy

I felt like it...crazy price. He also had a Konica Hexanon lens that he was asking £550.00 for. Geesh.....

    Got a new Serious Compact!

Yep I commuted for 20 years by bike and had a few confrontations with drivers. Love the Brompton though. Great for sticking in the car and going off-road.

    Hi from England !

Gosh it's been a while since I last posted on here. I'm back post surgery, and have invested in micro 4/3's via an E-PL1 and enjoying using it with my older lenses from 35mm days. I recognise many of the members on here from the micro 4/3's site/forums so Hi guys ! Still enjoying my Fuji 200 EXR...

    Hi from England !

Gosh thanks everyone ! I'm on Flickr but with a 2-year absence not posted much recently. The last compact I bought was 2 years ago a Canon S90 the day before my little dog died. Ive never been happy with it. But this F200 is really doing something for me. Once Im out of hospital I intend to...

    Hi from England !

Just an " hello" from myself ! A recent purchase of a 2nd hand Fuji F200 EXR has kick-started me back into photography after a 2-year absence after a bereavement. Fuji F200EXR Renaissance!

A recently purchased 2nd-hand F200 has just given me a kick-start back into photography after a 2-year loss of interest after a bereavement. I've had this cam since yesterday and so far am amazed at it's versatility, sharpness, and low-light/macro performance......Very happy....
