My second, newer X10 has developed a pretty frequent, but still intermittent 'focus error' on start up. You can hear gears whirring in the lens when this occurs. Sadly it's out of warranty and I'm wondering if any UK users have had a similar issue and had to pay for the fix themselves. If so...

Has anyone used a variable ND filter in the X10 lens hood please? The variable lenses all protrude further than their 52mm thread and whilst the lens hood would appear to have some room for the extra diameter, I'm wondering if they have enough. Thanks in advance. John

I did a fair bit of research to find a decent filter to fit my X10 and lots of forums all pointed towards the NiSi 40mm filter. I know the camera lens' thread isn't exactly 40mm, but apparently this filter fits perfectly. Sadly after buying a NiSi 40mm, that doesn't seem to be the case for me...

I've just bought a used X10 and find the lens very stiff when trying to switch the camera off. Zooming is beautifully smooth, only powering off feels stiff. Is this normal please?
