Well the brick has landed. Very happy so far. Like the look, the feel, the images :) Not ever having use the lcd, I have a bit of adjustment there . Nice watching the K50/1.2 plane of focus move through the scene. Is it possible to magnify focus view with manual lens ? cheers Pete

consider the adaptall Tamron 300/5.6 SP telemacro. Cheap, solid with great image sharpness and bokeh with quite short min focussing distance. Not true macro of course but meh

I had a bit of luck that day, there was great light. Using f/11 incidentally

My K-01 is still moving, has reached somewhere called Hodgkins, IL. Heading for cheap proxy post address in Portland. Then across the Pacific to Auckland customs who will hopefully decide it is under the $400 limit that kicks in 15% GST :) Might have it in a fortnight :D

I've heard the Limiteds like regular exercise... More K-mount bodies arriving soon !

I really can't stand the look of that lens. I think it's the acres of flat crepe and tiny element. Probably transferring my slight toy cameras fears onto the poor lens, miracle of lens construction it is ! Have DA40 ltd anyway so all good.

I heard the gnashing and wailing from the ether at threat of lens surgery... rushed to the rescue ! One of the glories of Pentax is their faithful following of the lens mounts to various extents.

M and K lenses stop down fine , but only shooting in M. Hit the green button, iris closes, camera meters, sets shutter speed, bingo ! In Av and other modes, these lenses stay, as you say, wide open. Pete

Thanks for the welcome ! I agree the yellow will be the iconic one but in the end I liked the idea of blending with the K-5 :)

Hi Folks, I finally broke down and ordered the K-01... Found this place while searching for peoples experience with the FA77ltd :) Initially ordered the yellow body but chickened out and changed it to black... Black 77 on yellow would look good but silver needs the black cheers Pete in NZ
