I'm just back in Guangzhou after a week in Shanghai and I have around 2000 pictures to work my way through. For starters here are a few shots of Shanghai's three tallest skyscrapers.
Yesterday it finally got cold(ish) here in Guangzhou with the high down to 8C. It was the same today but it didn't stop the locals from playing mahjong outdoors by the river.
Here are a few more shots with the Rokinon 75. The first two were shot during daylight at f5.6, the third was from close up at f2.
There are a few more examples on my Guangzhou Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/olli-guangzhou/
Here are a few photographs from a couple of nights ago when I took this newly acquired lens out for the first time. I've also included 100% crops from each. All of these were shot at ISO 3200 and I processed them through DXO Pure Raw which tends to soften them ever so slightly. (Also, the...
When I was living in Taiwan I printed a monthly magazine with my favourite pictures from that month and I've continued that practice in Guangzhou. The first arrived over the holidays - much delayed because it was sent to Bangkok, then sent back to the US via Tokyo, before finally arriving here...

I've been looking for a 70mm-ish lens for my Fuji since I always liked the 105mm focal length on my old Nikon film cameras. For a long time the closest Fuji options were either 56mm - too short - or 90mm - too long. Then two 75mm lenses popped up at around the same time last year. I went for the...
Welcome. I just recently moved from Taipei after living there for a year. It's a fabulous place for photography. If you're into photobooks there's a great photo book shop called Moom Books just off Zhongxiao E Road, at Zhongxiao Fuxing metro stop.
The musical fountain in Huacheng Square. There's a performance most nights at 8pm and I normally watch it from my apartment which overlooks the square. A couple of nights ago I went down to take a few pictures. I thought I was far enough back but then got drenched during one particularly intense...
Dancing polar bears outside a mall in Guangzhou. I've no idea what was going on here or what they were promoting. The lady on the right posed for a photograph and then decided to join in.
