DP3M bought me back to my good old days of shooting the temperamental VELVIA where I had to watch out for highlights or shadow or pay a heavy price, the fact the VELVIA was limited to ISO50 made things extremely difficult but end results were WOW and thats exactly what my DP3M does.
Using it now, preview has got faster when you enable the program to use more memory, however I see some lag and slowdown issue, this on a latest i7 16gb laptop with Windows 8.1 and latest drivers.
Thank you for your compliment and yes, RX 100 rocks. New camera come in compact and I get tempted but still go back to the venerable RX100. You are correct about Raw Therapee's clunky interface but the details that it extracts are just too good. Also the end files are bigger than original JPEG...
I have been trying Raw Therapee for my RX100 ARW and must say the details have me impressed. Earlier I have tried SONY Image Data Converter and Adobe Lightroom as well as Darktable.
The Foveon has always been about IQ like a medium format and never ever been about speed. Its internal processing power is old and therefore can't handle all the data from the Foveon but the end result is always well worth the wait. Also higher ISO has remained the bane of Foveon.
Actually the DP Merrills have given medium formats run for their money in terms of IQ and this is something even my DSLR A7R with Zeiss 50 1.4 cant match. Its the pop factor.
