Pentax My first Pentax limited lens

All the cheap legacy glass will still be good though :) Well it would be good to at least see something as good as the NX1 sensor. Yearly upgrades don't seem that unreasonable. I think they will go FF though in Feb. The price of the Nikon 610 is really bridging the gap to top end APS-C which...

Pentax My first Pentax limited lens

I managed to find a 35mm 2.8 macro limited on ebay for £210 which seemed like a really good price compared to new. Arrived home last night and it was waiting for me. The build is as good as I read, down to the metal lens cap with a velvet lining. Anyway, optically it seems fantastic, a step...

    a nice pair

I like the deep shadow of the foreground. It makes it feel as though you have stepped back from direct participation in the scene, but in doing so brings to mind the photographer.

    Guardian Art Critic on photography

Is this even meant to be taken seriously? Probably the best trolling seen in the Guardian this year...He should probably change career if he believes what he is writing though. The $6.5m canyon: it's the most expensive photograph ever – but it's like a hackneyed poster in a posh hotel

Great shots, I love the ones of nesting birds in particular

    The Borders

The wife and baby were away visiting family so I had the weekend free and took a trip out to the Lammermuirs in the Scottish Borders. It's just about my favourite place and hopefully these pictures show why: IMGP4542.jpg by nathancom, on Flickr IMGP4586.jpg by nathancom, on Flickr...

What about cloud based photo editing? I am not sure if there are decent ones but if there are it may save you making any outlay.

    Ricoh New GR Report!

In terms of smudged detail, do you have a fast enough shutter speed? The camera has no stabilisation built in so you will probably need to shoot faster than you otherwise would. Are you looking at RAW or JPEG? I haven't ever used the ricoh gr JPEG engine so I can't comment on whether it is...

I really like this software - I am not sure about colour efex but silver efex gives so much great control.

The 32nd Serious Compacts Salon Challenge - Life - Winnner Announced!

Fantastic winning shot very well deserved. I really liked pdk42's shot as well of those that didn't hit the top 5.

    Which OS you prefer?

the thing that is driving me towards a mac is the high quality pre-calibrated display in the macbooks - not the OS. Windows 8.1 is actually a very good OS, but after the bad publicity they really need Windows 9 to be a stormer.

Sony Trying to make a decision is too difficult

it is only a few hundred pounds so not a huge amount of money in the scheme of things. Photos from Fuji X series look fantastic and the cameras look great to me from ergonomics side and appearance so I know where my vote would sit.

    Pentax Pentax K50/500

I have the k-30, it really is excellent. Great ergonomics, really good features, especially the viewfinder and with the wr lens you have that extra confidence to take it anywhere. The k-50 is basically a refresh of the k-30 and so I think it is probably the best bang for buck of lower mid...

The 29th Serious Compacts Salon challenge: QUIET - WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Hi All, new to the forums. I recently got a ricoh gr so qualified for a serious compact. Here is one of the first photos I took with it. The road is normally busy with cars so it was unusually tranquil in this photo.
