High Contrast Black and White Presets for Lightroom

I hadn't seen the Monolith presets before. Thanks for those. I've been looking at the presets from The Inspired Eye, but I can't find good before and after previews for them to see exactly what those presets do to an image. Which sets of theirs have you used?

High Contrast Black and White Presets for Lightroom

I'm looking for some good presets for Lightroom that would give me a high contrast black and white image. I do a lot of processing from scratch for this look, but I'm curious if there are some useful presets out there that could give me a head start on my processing. Plus I find presets a useful...

    Completed Fuji X100

    Completed Fuji X100

I'm putting up for sale my Fuji X100. I hate to part with this camera, but I'm primarily shooting film now and this doesn't see much use, so it should go to a good home. I've owned this camera for about 1 year and I've completely babied it. I would guess it has a shutter count of about 2000...

    Completed Panasonic G2, 14-45mm, extras

I'm putting up for sale the last of my m4/3 equipment. All of this equipment was bought within the last year. I bought the G2 with 14-45mm for my wife who hardly ever used it. Everything is in good working condition, was never handled roughly, was always taken care of. I coddle my camera...

Fuji Fuji X100 with the conversion lens - WCL-X100, effective 28mm lens

Hi, Ray. I saw someone comment that it took up the lower right fourth of the OVF, which is pretty substantial if true. Add on the hood and it would be even worse. Upon reading that I decided that while not optimal I could deal with it, especially considering the fact that I don't think the OVF...

Fuji Fuji X100 with the conversion lens - WCL-X100, effective 28mm lens

Hi, BB. Unless some report comes along to change my mind I will definitely be getting it based on the early samples I've seen. It looks like an excellent conversion lens and the 28mm equivalent focal length would be perfect on the X100, in my opinion. Do a search on google for wcl-x100 and...

    Apple iphone haters beware...

Interesting, Don. Do you care to explain what issues you are having and where you are going to go from here? Being a hobbyist, I don't really worry about copyright issues as much as someone who makes a living from their photography, but I have to admit that all of the social networks sometimes...

Fuji What happened to the X100?

It's good to see so many still have, use and even love their X100s. I'm glad I finally gave in and got mine. I have really taken to it as it seems to be a camera that really suits me. I shoot with the OVF, turn off the LCD, and it really feels like the old fixed lens rangefinders that I fell in...

Fuji What happened to the X100?

Thanks, BB. There are more X100 users on here than I realized. Goes to show you how busy I've been with work and how much I miss only checking in from time to time. I wasn't so much worried about anything when I posted my message as intrigued. It amazes me how quickly a camera can fall into and...

Fuji What happened to the X100?

It seemed that earlier this year nearly everyone was so enthusiastic about the X100 that it was hard to find a discussion on this forum that wasn't about that camera. Today I saw that Luke was able to find himself a X100 and he made this comment: It's been 6 months. What happened? I just...

Micro 4/3 Panasonic GX1 images....for real this time!

It's nice to see an updated GF-1 being released. It still is my favorite m43 camera, but with all that has been released since the GF-1 came out, this is a bit underwhelming. I guess if it has superb IQ and operation then it might be a good camera.

    Sensor Size Does Matter

I agree, Don. I think m43 is the best system out there but I like APS-C sized sensors the best. When it comes to high ISO and dynamic range it definitely has an edge. I think a 12 to 16 megapixel APS-C sensor is really the sweet spot when it comes to size and performance.

If you had to start all over again... (legacy / non legacy lenses)

I can't make the comparison to an FD or OM mount lens, but I can make a comparison between the 28 f2 Ultron and a Zeiss C/Y 28 f2.8 Distagon. As you can see, the Voigtlander is significantly smaller than the Zeiss and not just in length, which you can see here, but also in diameter. The...

If you had to start all over again... (legacy / non legacy lenses)

I used to shoot Contax/Yashica mount lenses on my NEX and they were fine performers; plenty sharp and had excellent contrast. I had the Zeiss 28 2.8 and the 50 1.4. I really liked them and if my only consideration was image quality I would have kept them, but I eventually decided that they were...

Ricoh Ricoh GXR + 28mm module

Don bought a GF-1 and I bought a GF-1. Don bought a NEX and I bought a NEX. Don bought a X100 and I didn't buy an X100. Whew, but it was close. I hope to keep the new streak alive now that Don has a GXR but I must admit I'm awfully tempted by the GXR and M-mount module. Are you getting the...

Sony Shooting A mode with adapted lenses

On the NEX you can also shoot in shutter priority mode. Set the aperture on the lens, set your desired shutter speed, and then select Auto ISO.
