I could almost just live with just a 16mm ultrawide, and a 600mm super tele, and be happy. And probably could sacrifice the tele, if needed. That's a little tough with the 1 series of course, but the wide zoom is actually pretty darn good (for my uses), so if I can find a decent fisheye...

just arrived. um, where is the "no lens" setting on the V1?? since there are no electrical contacts, the V1 doesn't think there is a lens on it. looks like the trick is to just use manual. which means I really only have exposure to adjust. everything seems to shoot at iso 100 even...

Well, I clearly need to try the Nikon once it finally starts shipping again. I've been shooting animals (mostly birds, but one safari) with a OMD-EM-5 and the Panny 100-300 native zoom. Except when things are moving (eg BIF) it's entirely manageable and maybe as my technique gets better even...

Are you shooting these maxed hard at 300mm? Have you ever shot with MFT? If so, how do you think it compares for action shots?

Looking at these shots a day later, I definitely believe I need to underexpose more. The blown highlights are ALL I see when I look at them, at this point.

Gave the 10-30mm a workout while hiking. Not disappointed at all. Not perfect, but that's as much me learning when to under expose to avoid blown highlights as anything else. Makes me wish the non-defeatble image review on the V1 had a "blown highlights" option to make it really clear I blew...

That makes sense. It was certainly a selling point on trying out the system, as a possible replacement for MFT, as my main rig! I guess we are all waiting on a slow boat from (insert country of manufacture here).

Update: still no ship date. Looks like all vendors are out of stock. That original run of lenses was VERY small.....
