What does the macro setting on the RX100- do? (I have the M3). I checked Gary Friedmann's otherwise excellent manual I bought and it has very little on it. He does say the lens elements do not move any differently in Macro mode, so I'm wondering what use it is (??) I shoot raw BTW

Assuming I don't want to use S, A, or M except in special circumstances, is there any reason not to just use i+ (Superior Auto) all the time? e.g. skip using P or i modes? - the manual is especially unhelpful on this
