Fuji Fuji 18mm f1.4 or 23mm f1.4 LM WR- how to decide?

Yes it does depend on what you want to shoot, but applying the general principle that I use with RF cameras probably wonā€™t hurt, that is; 28mm equiv focal length for wide, 50mm equiv for more particular subjects, with 35mm equiv for when you have/ want to take just the one lens. Yes that means...

Share Trains - Depots - Trestles - Stations

On the one hand it was disappointing to be in Belgium last Wednesday only to be met by big train delays seemingly nationwide. On the other hand, whilst on the replacement bus service from Antwerp to Gent, I did come across the culprit. This train, shot through the bus window in Belsele (a...

    Industrial Photography

It's interesting as a local to see how visitors find places like that so distinctive that, like yourself, they can recognise it straight away from a quick snapshot like that. Legend has it that in the industrial age, boats queued all the way to Kent to berth there 100+ years ago.

Hot smoked salmon and cream cheese. They say the camera never lies but I dunno, whilst this lunch bought from a supermarket chain may look packed and filling here, I can assure you only the cost cutting bare minimum was applied. A supermarket sandwich is not going cure hunger.

Adapted Adapted lenses, any make, for any camera

It can only be that many members here have or have previously had this lens so this wonā€™t be anything new. But I havenā€™t so for me, this Nikkor 35mm F2 ai (not ai-s) is great, has its own character, wonderful wide open for emphasising (rather than blowing out the background although you can do...

I try to apply the KISS theory, whether it actually is is another matter. Flickr for me acts as a sort of backup of my finished images so there's no culling, but I do apply 3 steps: 1) Tag with anything that I know will make me search an image quicker and this is quite effective, for example...

Single In Single in April (AiS) 2024 - announcement

What good idea. I was afforded the temporary use of a hideously priced Noctlilux F1 recently. Bags of character for sure, maybe unique. But how unique? You see from what Iā€™ve seen, that Astralabs 50mm F1.1 seems to my eyes to render pretty much the same from the results I was gettting with the...

Stroll Seen while strolling...walking and wandering outside

Can I ask which 35-70mm lens that is? I used the AF-D version of that lens for a single in challenge here some years ago as it was reputed to be Nikonā€™s worst ever lens. I must say, I never really had a problem with it.
