Yeah I've already gotten used to the size :) It's a very very nice camera. White balance could be a bit more accurate, but apart from that it whoops my X100 in every way, especially usability! Looking forward to RAW support in LightRoom 3!

Mine just arrived too :) Going to compare it to my X100 and throw one away. I wonder if anyone will find such a comparison "unfair"... I personally don't have a problem with it - they're both cameras, and that's an end of it as far as justification goes :)

Sounds almost exactly like me kev! E-pl1 + 20/1.7 for me before I made the jump to the X100. Whilst I can guarantee you won't have problems getting used to the setup, I can't say you won't be back to m43... Case in point, my x100 is up for sale and I have a new g3 on order :) (i kept my 20/1.7...

You may need to adjust your clock to Australian time in order to see why...

On any other day of the year it would have been out of the box in seconds :)

I would say it is a design compromise rather than a design error. You can still go up or down a third of a stop for either shutter or aperture by using the black command lever at the top right. It's not as easy as having third- or half-stop increments in the shutter dial/aperture ring...

I've heard about this a couple of times - can you elaborate? In cameras with this problem, are the framelines in OVF mode just really inaccurate?

Well, one just went for US$2600! I believe that's over twice the recommended retail price. There's a potential for huge profit here alright! The camera's quirks better not annoy me too much or I'll be awfully tempted to jump on that bandwagon too!! :) (although not before carefully comparing it...

my friend in australia just received his X100! Australia only received a partial first shipment for numerous obvious reasons, shops that sold at full RRP (AU$1300) seem to have gotten priority over the cheaper shops (AU$1100). unfortunately i belong in the latter category :(

The more links to that video the better - seems you can only view it from a link (and not from search) Interesting news regarding availability - shops in Australia are now sold out for at least 2.5 shipments. Which means late April delivery if you order now... Don't see the picture getting any...

It's not quite as simple as that. There's a high chance that the firmware in the flashes was tweaked to suit the TTL algorithms in the camera... or at least to some non-generic Fuji standard. I'm sure someone will try the Sunpak units out though, so we'll find out...

Just added some info on the 2 flash units - they are essentially re-branded Sunpak units, at about twice the price :mad:

those pictures are great indeed :) some guys have made a very nice and detailed video about the final pre-production version of the x100 and needless to say, it has me VERY excited!! link in the first post.

March 18 is the ETA for Australian suppliers to get stock at the warehouse, so I expect to get mine around March 23. Japan gets theirs first (naturally) - updated the first post with this info.

Given that the parallax error will be the same for rangefinder cameras, I think the concern lies more with the AF accuracy in OVF mode and not the OVF itself. However it should be possible to tweak the AF algorithm to compensate for parallax, so I think it will be a quickly forgotten concern in...

It will be a personal preference, but I most certainly can. Last year I spent 3 weeks in Hong Kong and Japan with only the 20/1.7, and never found myself wanting another lens. So I know I'll be fine with the X100 :) Adding the XZ-1 can only help - but I can't justify having 2 cameras in the house!
