Heck, I was sure this was sharp when I looked through the vf. Maybe should have taken the shot of the first beer not the third (?)

I'm not sure this problem is unique to Olympus. I have a Sony rx100 which does the same thing. I have seen it on colour film images too. I seem to remember reading somewhere that many bright red flowers are very bright in infra red as well. This increases the attraction to bees and other insects...

Rayvonn, thank you for starting this thread. Your image of Piccadilly Circus makes a rainy London look like Paris! I think most of the manual focus images I have posted on other threads on this site are soft compared to AF shots but nobody complained. Here's one that's really soft. Taken with an...

Documentary Fleamarkets, Odds and Ends, Bric-a-Brac

As an ex BT employee, this piqued my interest. A quick search with Google Lens told me that this is the "Wild and Wolf 746" which is available in umpteen colours. It looks like somebody has got hold of old BT casings, or is making new ones, and put new electronics in them. This shape was the...

Well done to Phigmov for reviving this thread after almost 10years. I never owned a Citroen (maybe just as well) but there's something about them. Spotted this one in the UK at a garden centre of all places.

    Weston-Super-Mare Trip

I think you're wrong there John. A quick Google shows that Birmingham is 106 miles to the sea and Coventry 118!! But I would agree that Ayers Rock (can't remember the new name) is a bit further.

    Bokeh is overrated...

If you Google it there's a video of a Japanese guy from Canon giving the correct pronunciaton. Seems to be more like "boquet". Anyway, concerns over the pronunciation of bokeh are overrated imho.

    Bokeh is overrated...

As I understand it the Japanese have distinct words for motion blur (bure) and out of focus blur (boke). Interest seems to have started in the 1960s when what were previously considered imperfections - grain (are in Japanese) and both types of blur - were recognised for their creative value. If...
