I had a similar experience with their service department this year. They've had my M9 since March, and say it will be a 12 week turnaround. I have no idea where my camera is in their queue.

I believe these were all with the lens shade on. The reversible shade and screw on front cap are great for storage, but not so good if you're carrying the lens around to take pictures. I usually leave the hood on with an extra 62mm lens cap that I had in a drawer on the end of it, so the hood...

I didn't add vignetting. That's just something to expect with this lens wide open.

I don't think you get any better quality scanning as a positive. I just haven't had any luck getting good B&W scans using Silverfast. The negatives always turn out with more contrast than I want and blown highlights. Even though it adds extra steps to the workflow, I get the best scans from...

I understand the cameras engraved Betriebsk are preproduction test mules. I've seen several with this engraving for sale on auction sites, but not an M3.

It seems that the M9 is right around there now. I paid $2850 for my M9 with a bunch of extras (extra battery, luigi case, strap , m-mate bottom plate, etc) a couple months ago.

Thanks uhoh7. My focus was a little off, but it worked out. I aimed at the middle pineapples, but must've moved a little, or maybe it was because I forgot to put the 1.25 magnifier on the M9 before I went out the door. I like the skiing pictures. I'm hoping to get some skiing in this year.

I think you mean the manually re-set film counter. It's a simpler design than what's on an M3.

Thanks! I'm happy to report that the lens did just fine with the baby food pictures as well. :) I'm going to give the lens a try on my MP as well, once I get a little more used to the focus and do some more testing outside of the house.

My Sonnetar arrived today. I'm still testing out the focus adjustment. I think I have it pretty much worked out for indoors at the distances I usually shoot at. I have my coma adjustment just a little past the red dot toward infinity. I shot several of our son taking his first bites of food...

I also bought the Leica 1.25x during that sale. I also have the Match Technical E-clypse 1.25x magnifier with the eye cup. Both are extremely useful for 50mm and longer lenses on my M8, M9 and MP. They do aid in focusing fast 50's quite a bit.

Nice shots Aaron. I use an Leicameter on top of mine. I have to say that for 50mm, the M3 finder is hard to beat.

You should! I'd like to see those shots. I've been shooting my Nikon-S lenses on the M9, and really liking the results.

This is always good advice. I went to France and Switzerland last year with my wife and managed to somehow forget my charging cable for the M8. I ended up shooting mostly with my backup Minolta CLE and didn't end up missing my M8 all that much when it ran out of juice.
