    Leica Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.5 in Leica Mount, 1949

My 5cm f1.5 Nikkor from the Second and last batch. I believe the second batch where mostly Nikon S bayonet lenses and only a very few Leica thread examples. Sorry that it took so long to provide photo's, but it was due to ill health. Lens came fitted with a Black early Nikkor cap.

Here is a view of the lens showing the lens distance scale in feet(photo 1)and the rear of the lens (photo 2). I am awaiting a Novoflex adapter so that I can use my lenses on my Nex 7. I can then post some images when I am well enough (Just recovering from an operation due to " big C").

Leica Konishiroku Hexanon 50mm F1.9 Leica LTM.

Just read this comment on RFF regarding Konica lenses:- " Konica lenses were used by the Japanese Ministry of Industry as the reference benchmark by which the quality of all other manufacturers' lenses were judged. Some companies have an obsession with quality and Konica was one of them."

Leica Minolta "Super Rokkor" 5cm F2.8- a Derivative of the Cooke Triplet

Brian, This is the only diagram that I have found of the element make-up of the 5cm f1.8 Super-Rokkor LTM that was illustrated in a Japanese camera magazine. It is a 1-1-1-2-1 layout. 5cm f1.8 Super-Rokkors in LTM are mainly found scaled in metres. Luckily I managed to acquire a...

Leica Minolta "Super Rokkor" 5cm F2.8- a Derivative of the Cooke Triplet

Thank you Brian, a very interesting write-up on these lenses. The Minolta LTM lenses are very good lenses and were very neglected.I use a 5cm f1.8 Super-Rokkor and it is a very fine performer. This lens was produced for the rare Minolta IIB camera, which was the last of the Minolta LTM cameras...

Leica Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.5, the lens that got the attention of the World

Hello Brian, Many thanks for re-posting your excellent and very informative history of the 5cm f1.5 Nikkor-S.C. lens. As you say very little has been written about this lens and it's place in the history of early Japanese "fast" lenses.
