Bradford, West Yorkshire. Once immensely wealthy. Now unfortunately suffering from the economic decline although its demise predates that. Some lovely buildings around though.

I've mostly been absorbed with my Nikon gear recently but I thought I'd travel light back to my hometown of Swansea to see my folks and took the Panny G2 with the 14-45 and oly 9-18.

What would you do if you had some LTM, Canon FD & Minolta AF legacy lenses, a wife with a Panny GH2 and a bunch of lenses she hardly ever uses and some shekels burning a hole in your pocket?
Shall I tell you what I did?
I bought a Panny G2, that's what I did. :yahoo::whoo:
I've already got...

A couple of the last batch of shots taken before I sold my X100 a few days ago.
So, today I shall be taking delivery of PS CS5 (I've always done my editing in LR and maybe PSE/Gimp occasionally).
Elsewhere, I see you can get a discount on the Topaz suite of plug-ins through Scott Kelby's site.
So is the suite any good? What does the panel think?
Ah well, I've sold the X100 to a mate. :frown:
I'm using my DSLR gear more and more and while I'll miss the IQ and handling of the X100, I wasn't getting the use out of it to justify keeping it. Plus I just dropped a large chunk of moolah on a 70-200 VRII to hang off the front of my D700...

Andreas Gursky's shot sells for 4.3m USD (2.7m GBP; 3.1m Euro).
So, then. Four. Point. Three. Million. Dollars.
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice snap.
But four point three million dollars. Really?
Hello folks.
I haven't been around for a while. Work has been getting in the way of me having fun.
But wifey and I managed to get to Borneo and get to see some wildlife there. We went to the Tanjung Puting National Park and trekked around some of the trails and klotok'ed up and down the...

Ignoring sports stars, who are the truly talented World-famous people born in the same town as you?

I found an old cable release, when I was rummaging around in my old film camera kit box this morning.
It fits the X-100!
I'm regarding this as some sort of karma.
Occasionally we are touched by people we have never met. A colleague of a friend died last week. He was a greatly respected surgeon but a bit of a curmudgeon (aren't they all?).
My mate went to the funeral and found out amongst other things that the guy spent his weekends making breakfast...
If you're selling camera gear, what have you found to be the best way?
eBay? Trade in? Camera fairs? Local newspaper ads? Sumfink else?
Feel free to contribute if you're not a Brit but I'm particularly interested in how my fellow British do it.
I was browsing the mu-43 forums and came across this thread on optimising/optimizing:wink: JPEG and WB settings for straight-out-of-the-camera images from Panny Lumix Gs.
I hadn't realised/realized:wink: - and this surprised/surprized:wink: me because I am an unreconstructed fiddler - that...
A month or so ago, I bought a new Nikon D700 (quite possibly the last one off the production line for a wee while, judging by the discussion boards ).
Yesterday, we bought a new GH2 kit for my wife to use and I found this place after surfing a few Lumix G forums. It reminded me what a...
Hi guys
As suggested by BBW, I tried to put my flickr/flickriver stream in the Member Sites section. However, it coughs up an error, saying that the URL is already in the database.
If I use my flickriver URL, it links to BBW's flickriver (even thought the URLs are different) and if I use...
Hi all
I'm Russ, currently living in York in the UK.
I mostly shoot with Nikon DSLRs but also have a Ricoh Caplio R6, a Panny LX3 and the ubiquitous phonecam (as well as a collection of film cameras).
I like the wide range of discussions I can see on here and I'm looking forward to...
