    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

For medium format it's great. 35mm can be difficult if the negatives are not flat. Color in general is difficult to do and requires more work than I care for. Overall it's a great scanner.

    Film Showcase Ilford HP5 Plus

    Sunday morning tech-rehearsal. HP5+ (120) @3200 Pentax 6x7, 105/2.4 Dev'd in Xtol (22min) and scanned on a V550.

Film Where do you buy film?

I see you live in Hunterdon. I do as well. If I need film quick I stop by Black Lab Studios in Flemington. I also get my color developed there (I scan myself). I used to order from Freestyle because I liked their EDU line of films, but I have switched to ordering from B&H because shipping is...

    Film Showcase Kodak Ektar 100

Kodak Ektar pushed 2 stops (@400), Pentax 6x7 & 105/2.4 Dev and Scan by TheFINDLab. I took a chance by shooting in low light. Both shots were about 30-60min before sunset, but I like what I see online with Ektar@400 (#ektarpushed2stops on instagram).

    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

Nah, I scan straight using V550 and EPSON Scan. Sometimes I correct the images, but I'm cataloging the negatives I will one day enlarge the good ol' fashion way. I do mess around with color negatives though (VueScan (RAW) -> ColorPerfect).

    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

Here's a couple more with the 105mm f2.4. I know the one with my dog was wide open, but I'm not sure about the other one. Both on Hp5 developed in D76. Excuse the water marks

    Film Hasselblad 500C/M versus Bronica EC-TL - a 6x6 cm comparison

Fantastic write-up! I've always been interested in trying out a Bronica but never bothered to do the research on them.

    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

Actually, it's very easy to focus. My camera has the microprism ring screen, no split screen. At first I thought this would be difficult because it's the same setup I have in my SRT201, which I find difficult to focus. The P67, however, is super easy to focus because the view through the finder...

    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

It's actually very manageable! I'm using an Op/Tech Pro strap and carry it on my shoulder. The problem is the storage: of all the camera bags I have none will accommodate this animal plus the giant 55mm I got with the camera (100mm filter thread...).

    Film Kiev 88/88cm

I think all cameras get mixed reviews. It's really a matter of whether you work well with the camera and vice versa. I bought an Olympus XA a while back because everyone raved about the optics and what-not....well, I sold it cause I just never quite boded with it. Instead I enjoy my Leica...

    Film Pentax 6x7 MLU

I just received a Pentax 6x7 yesterday. It came with the 55 f3.5 and 105 f2.4. I got to try one a couple of weeks ago from a local seller, but unfortunately his son decided he wanted to keep the camera (it was mint. MINT!). Anyways, I tried some Acros 100 and loved the sharpness of the lenses...

    Film Kiev 88/88cm

I remember watching this when I was looking at the Kiev 88. Apparently you can avoid any possible frame spacing issues by advancing the film in a single, continuous motion. Here's the vid:

    Film Mamiya M645 1000s

I have the M645 1000s. Love it more now that I got the WLF for it; it's much lighter now than with the metered prism (which meters but doesn't relay shutter speeds back to body, anyways).

    Film Showcase Kodak Ektar 100

This is my first roll of Ektar 100, which I shot on a M645 1000s. Scanned on a V550 using Vuescan and ColorPerfect. Sandy Hook Round Valley

    Film Konica anyone?

Konica glass has a good reputation. I'm getting a piece of the action by way of a Konica Auto S2 (Hexanon 45mm f/1.8).

Film Showcase Arista EDU Ultra 400

I tend to measure any photography-related purchase by how many rolls of Arista EDU I can buy instead. It works well and I can burn through it guilt-free! X700 50 f/2 - Pushed to 1600, D76 XA - Box speed, D76 XA - Pushed to 800, D76

    Film Showcase Kodak Portra 400

Black Lab, that's the one! They're really nice there, but they may take some time to develop color. They do it in-house but wait until they have enough rolls to do a batch. It's never been longer than a week. They also have a complete darkroom you can rent and stock film and dev chemicals. They...

    Film Showcase Arista Premium 400

My biggest issue with Arista Premium 400 was that my negatives would cup really bad, which never happened with other film. I do my own scanning and, unfortunately, I could not manage good scans with this film. Good thing I didn't stock up as I was planning.

    Film Showcase Kodak Portra 400

Gotta love portra! I started getting my color film developed locally but without the scanning to save money (I develop B&W at home). I use a cheap HP G4050 scanner (I rate it a meh+) along with VueScan and the ColorPerfect plugin for Photoshop (I haven't played with the settings much just yet)...

    Film Film processing

If you are truly concerned about getting images out of those rolls, you may want to try Film Rescue. I've never used them myself but they specialize in old developed rolls of film, although they are pricey. Otherwise, if you aren't too concerned about preserving the images and you just want...

    Film ColorPerfect

Does anyone use the ColorPerfect plugin for Photoshop? I develop and scan my own B&W at home and VueScan gives me good results, but has anyone used this or other software/plugins for color-correcting color film? My local lab does a decent job with color scans but I want to cut costs and just...

Film Where do you buy film?

I like Fuji Superia 400 as an all-purpose color film. I pay under US$3.50/roll at my local Walmart for a pack of 4. I get all my other color film from Freestyle or from my local lab.
