Film Suggestions on B&W Film to Purchase

My favorites are Fuji Neopan Acros 100 and Kodak TMAX 100, but they can be pricey just for learning. Since you're starting out, I highly recommend the Arista house brand film from Freestyle Photo. I think most of it is rebranded film from Fomapan these days but it's dirt cheap, perfectly...

    Film Nishika N8000

You might try the free StereoPhoto Maker (StereoPhoto Maker (English)) it has some auto align features that worked well when I used to dabble in 3D. Don't know how it will work with 4 shots though. Also, I don't know how you scan your photos, but I would try scanning all four as a single image...

Film Developing your film in one step

The Art of Photography has a pretty good (if rambling) review: http://theartofphotography.tv/episodes/developing-film-in-one-step-instant-processing/ I was curious about using it for a portable paper negative setup but it's sold out already.

    Film Nishika N8000

I've kind of wanted one of those for awhile. I think there might be guides online to hack it so it only takes two photos instead of four. Since you won't be making lenticular photos, why waste the film? Although, I suppose you could scan four in and make a cool animated GIF!

    Film Showcase Kodak Portra 400

Try running through 48 shots in a Half-frame Olympus Pen only to get back a blank roll because the film didn't take...that was painful. Glad it wasn't a standard 36 shot roll!

Film What developer do you use

I use D-76 and Rodinal. D-76 is my tried and true performer which I use on the important stuff. I really like Rodinal for it's ease of use (and it's cheap!) but I'm still learning it's many quirks. I use it at 1+50. I tried an hour stand develop with Rodinal and wasn't impressed, but it could...

Film Recommend a place to develop and scan B&W film?

I don't think they do mail-ins, but if you live in the Seattle area, I can highly recommend Moonphoto Lab (http://www.moonphotolab.com/). I've had quite a few rolls of black and white run through them before I learned to develop it myself and they always came back looking great, as did the...

Film Should we have a film emulation forum?

I see no reason not to give the subject it's own subforum as SnapDawg suggested above. While I'm not terribly interested in emulating existing film stock, there's a lot that is lost to history. I will never be able to shoot and develop real Kodachrome, after all, but I like the look. Who better...

Film Showcase Fuji Neopan 100 Acros

There's more light in that shot than may be apparent at first because of all the street signs. I think I shot it at 1/60s at f1.9. Modern films are so forgiving, though, that I routinely shoot 100 iso film in dark situations and get good results, but I'm not as concerned about grain in BW...
