Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

Joby DSLR Wrist Strap Very comfortable and secure IMHO, I actually have 3 of these, across the Yashica, a NEX 5R and on and off an XD7. Plus is not an "artisan" design / product, so its only 15 bucks.

    Film Best Olympus XA?

The XA and the mju 2 are going for 100+ USD, its nuts. Here is a great review on the XA2: Olympus XA2 (1980) I would go for it, and spend the rest of the cash on film.

Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

So, remember my lovely XD11 and the Auto Winder that followed it home? I have the theory it got slightly wet and spawned another one, but from the XD7 variety. At least that is the story my wife is going to get. Another option is that I got it for about 20 USD as a parts camera, that turned...

Film Where do you buy film?

You spoiled folks.... B&H is not an easy option. There is a healthy "analogue" photo community where I live, plus Amazon has recently started to carry trix and some lomo stuff at reasonable prices.

    Film Architectural Abstractions

Been working on this project for a couple of months, gathering abstract forms that catch my eye, in architecture around me. For context this is at Mexico, covering Colonial, Contemporary and Modern architecture styles. Mainly shot with a Yashica Electro GSN, on Trix 400, developed at home with...

Film Using a Mirrorless + Macro lens to scan negatives

Thanks Richard! Its the Yashica Electro lens at f8 I believe, quite sharp lens! The shot you mention is indeed overexposed, I guess I wasnt really paying much attention to the exposure as much as to building the holder, I do exactly as you say nowadays.

Film Another go with Caffenal and Kodachrome

When I was preparing to get into film, I tracked down all the ingredients for Caffenol C, Ascorbid Acid and all, then a nice deal over a bag of Xtol and a set of Rapid Fixer showed up, the DIY stuff is on the backburner, once my Xtol stash dies out or is depleted, I'll give it a shot too...

I've noticed some scratches horizontally on your scans, and on the last roll I've developed at home noticed the same while scanning them, do you think its a problem on the camera or manipulation of the film afterwards? I was more careful with this last roll, but I am likely skipping something.

Film Using a Mirrorless + Macro lens to scan negatives

I've updated the original post with the latest iteration of the adapter, I am getting 12mpx images of the negatives, which serve my purposes good enough. I was wondering that, with the newest sensors and image stabilization, its just a matter of flattening the negative over a light table /...

Film Using a Mirrorless + Macro lens to scan negatives

With the adapter is a one shot approach with a quick reset, very easy to scan several frames quickly, I just double check the focus and hit the IR remote. I'll definitively look into getting more of the sensor, first iteration was 8mpx, second I struck 11 mpx, but something alike 14-15 would...

Film Using a Mirrorless + Macro lens to scan negatives

Hi All So, I've dipped my toes into B&W development, relegating C-41 to the local lab ( cost to get one roll developed *and* printed is about 4 USD, I can live with that cost).
